1. I totally love my car, and I totally love driving it through the mountains. Not a sports car, she is nevertheless a sporty, peppy car. She has a good engine, kicked up a notch or two with turbo. Complete with all-wheel drive and the optional "sports package," my car just loves rounding curves and climbing hills and I just love being along for the ride.
2. I have such a passion for peanut butter that I dare not keep any in the house. The jar of peanut butter calls my name constantly until it has been consumed.
3. I love cooking shows and cooking magazines. I read recipes like many people read novels. My favorite cooking magazine is Cook's Illustrated which gives elaborate detail about how a dish is made.
4. I have always been a reader. I have at least three books in process at any given time, usually one fiction, one non-fiction and one biography. I do not read at night, however. If I do, I tend to get too caught up in the book and stay up far too late.
5. I have never cared a whit for shoes. I hate shopping for them and I hate wearing them. I'm barefoot in the house most of the time and my outdoor shoes are sneakers or boots. On the occasion that I HAVE to wear attractive shoes, I take them off the minute I get home.
6. My circadian chronotype is the "evening" type. I am not a morning person at all. Forced to change into a fake morning person during my work years, I have now reverted to my true self. I must be given some time to come to life in the morning. It's simple, really. Just leave me alone while I cradle my coffee mug and sit quietly in my chair. I feel the need to speak on behalf of all of us who are evening types. We are not lazy! We are not slugs! We don't need (or get) any more sleep than you morning types. Morning people tend to think that they have it right and some of them are downright arrogant about it. [You know that old, "early to bed, early to rise" thing.] Believe me, I know about morning people. I live with one who is up at 5:00 am and loves nothing more than the brisk morning air.
So there you have six random facts about me; likely more than you cared to know. I am going to alter the meme cycle. I am not going to tag anyone else. However, I do think this type of thing is great fun, and I would love to know six random facts about everyone. So, if you like the game, consider yourself tagged and post on your blog.
Here are the blog rules:
The rules for Six Random Facts are pretty straightforward:
1. Link to the person who tagged you.
2. Post the rules on your blog.
3. Write six random things about yourself.
4. Tag six people at the end of your post and link to them.
5. Let each person know they've been tagged and leave a comment on their blog.
6. Let the tagger know when your entry is up.
I think you will enjoy thinking of random facts about yourself and we will definitely enjoy reading about them.

Carolyn, are you sure you're not my wife Betsy's twin? Betsy absolutely loves peanut butter and won't keep it in the house. She was more of an evening person when we met, but now gets up bright and early to feed her birds! Thanks for sharing.
Hi Carolyn, YES---George is absolutely right about the peanut butter. I LOVE it--and it DOES call my name CONSTANTLY. BUT--I bet you never had my favorite sandwich before (peanut butter and MAYO sandwiches).... That's a Virginia tradition from my parents!!!!
George says that I get up bright and early to feed the birds. That is true--but what he doesn't tell you is that I usually go back to bed!!!! ha
Hugs,
Betsy
I relate with #2. I could eat it 3 meals a day, particularly peanut butter and banana sandwiches. Best not to buy it!(but there is some in the back of the fridge I believe)
I love peanut butter too. I eat it with a spoon. If you like pb, don't ever try Nutella. It is so good I could eat the entire jar in a day.
I am with you on shoes. I hate them and go for comfort over style. It doesn't help that I have honkin Fred Flinstone feet either.
Betsy and Ruth, have you ever tried pb, banana AND mayo?? We used to love those as kids!
I never used to be a morning person Carolyn, but I converted. Sigh. Now sleeping "late" means 7AM. By 9:30-10PM, I am toast.
Love your random facts and feel as if we know you better! :c)
Loved the random facts about your goodself....
I to am a peanut butter freak.....there is none in the house!!
I am an early riser.....but I say each to there own.....I need to be in bed by 10.00 though, so its swings and roundabouts, isn't it?
You stay put in your chair and enjoy your coffee....my brother would join you.....lol
LOL - "fake morning person." I'm the same way, except that I don't generally try to fake it. Morning people learn quickly not to be overly cheerful or energetic around me until I've had a cup of coffee or two.
Loved these fun facts about you! I don't like wearing shoes either - glad I changed jobs. I was tired of having to wear heels w/ my business suits. Give my slippers anyday!
Love the facts Carolyn. We love peanut butter in our house also. In fact we switched to the all natural kind. The one you have to stir. You will not find lunch meat here.
Fun to get to know you better....and what time do the girls get up?
Ditto re the peanut butter! We would be good travel companions - I love to go on car trips but like it better if someone else drives.
George and Betsy - Nope, we can't be related. Betsy loves the snow!!!
Ruth - I also love peanut butter and banana sandwiches. But I never tried them grilled like Elvis did.
Kallen - I have tried Nutella and while I love it, I still prefer peanut butter.
Hendersonville - Oh, yes. The peanut butter goes on one side of the bread and the mayo on the other with the banana as the filling.
Jayne - I understand. I had to change for so many years.
Cheryl - You sound more like my husband.
Dog geek - I used that phrase because I never became a REAL morning person and it took tremendous effort to play the role.
Toni - I like the grind-your-own natural peanut butters as well.
Helen - Interestingly enough, the girls will sleep as long as we want. Of course, when my husband is around that means the crack of dawn. They do not stir in their crates and pretend to be sleeping until we actually open the crate doors. I think they would prefer to sleep a bit more, but they make up for that during the rest of the day.
a fellow peanut butter fan here. Interesting that so many nature-loving bloggers are peanut butter fans--curious--perhaps we should do a scientific study for the peanut industry.
As to #5...I usually ditch the heels about half way thru the event...I think I was born with flip flops on my feet. But i do hate peanut butter!
