We have a lot of "sayin's" here in the mountains. No matter what the occasion, there is a proper proverb to enhance it. One that is repeated almost daily is, "If you don't like the weather, just wait a few hours and it will change."
Unlike the expansive western skies or skies along the shoreline of the oceans, our skies provide limited visibility. The mountains obscure them, so we are often surprised to find a storm quickly arise. On the other hand, sometimes the storm clouds are suddenly past and the sky is blue once more.
Not half an hour before I took these photographs, the sky was gray and dark. Suddenly the gray clouds were gone, replaced by these white ones and the sky was beautiful.
Yes, it is so neat how the weather changes around us. It must be so great to see it up in the mountains. I am in the Piedmont so I don't see the changes like you do.
Your photos are beautiful. Our weather is like that here in Kentucky. One day it will be 20 degrees and the next day it will be 65 degrees. You just never know what you are going to get from day to day.
Beautiful skies....looks as if you had a wonderful day......I love it when the weather changes from one moment to the next......
Carolyn: What really neat skies you captured today.
Those are wonderful photos of the sky, my favorite colors (blue & white). The sky always looks so friendly when this color, thanks for sharing with us.
I love the pretty bright blue against your fluffy clouds!
Beautiful skies!! Could you send some of that blue up to Pa. We have been having dreary overcast,,blah blah days! I always get more energy with sunny days and esp. if they have skies like yours!! Nice post..and the quote was perfect!
Nice blue skies! We are so close to the mountain here, the weather often just bounces right over us.
No matter where you go things are still the same,... (old saying) but that old saying proves true,... we say the same about the weather here in the Adirondack Mts. of far upstate NY,... only we say "wait a few minutes"... the sentiment is the same!
Just so beautiful Carolyn!
I will never forget the first time I saw one of them. I was folding clothes in my room when one flew by the window. I rushed outside and just stood there in awe staring at it. I've love them ever since.
