Fridays are Golden

Our dogs follow us around the house all day. They simply want to be wherever we are.

Lucy loves to be on the deck so that she can watch the animals and birds. If there is no action, she gets a bit bored and lies down on the job.

She loves to rest her head on almost anything, the lower railing working just fine.

The other evening, the girls were on the deck while my husband prepared the grill. He came inside, thinking both dogs came with him. I heard Lucy whining at the door and looked around to see why she was whining. It seems Ellie had not come inside and was now wondering what to do. She is not accustomed to being on the deck alone.

Sometimes, the girls find themselves on the wrong side of the door. I was out on the deck taking some bird pictures, and Ellie was quite upset that I didn't invite her out with me.

The worst times for them are when we are working in the front yard. They will stand at the dining room window, looking out at us until we come inside the house. Notice that Ellie is carrying a tennis ball in her mouth as usual.

Today is truly a golden day in the mountains. We are having cool, sunny days with a hint of autumn in the air.
Whatever the weather, I hope you have a wonderful weekend. If you still do not have enough gas to go far, explore your own yard and neighborhood. Have a fun-filled and safe weekend. Here's hoping all our midwest friends have power.

Carolyn: Those Golden's have a great life.

I have to warn you--if I am ever down your way (from up here in central PA), I would be so tempted to kidnap two goldens. What faces!
And the guilt they lay on you--wondrous!

BTW--just kidding about the kidnapping thing. But I do love the doggies.

My sister and I also have goldens from Dichi fathered my Kona. Can't find any better dogs. Ours are 8 months old today.

I swear, it's as if I expect your girls to talk! They are so lovely.
Have a beautiful weekend yourself Carolyn. :c)

You can tell they are loved.

My dogs are a black and white version of yours, behaving in the same way. Can you potty without them waiting outside the door? They spoil US with their reverence.

That first photo of the snout made me laugh out loud.

Helen - Thanks. There's always plenty of material.

Fishing guy - They do indeed have it easy. No work for them.

Donna - Don't think my husband would allow that, but if we tire of them we know where to turn.

Ruth - I was standing on the deck and looked down to see that goofy little thing. The nose really got to me.

Golddog - Happy birthday to the Dichi cousins! I've yet to meet a Dichi Golden that wasn't just perfect. They are great breeders.

Jayne - Actually, Ellie does "talk." She comes up to me with a tennis ball and makes all sorts of gutteral sounds for several minutes. Lucy is more of a whiner, especially when she wants to be petted. She sits by your chair and makes such a pitiful little whine.

Twisted - Our children (grown) are certain the dogs get more attention than they ever did.

Mary - Actually, the master suite is off limits to the dogs, but they do lie just outside the bedroom door waiting. They likewise are not allowed in the hall that leads to the library, guest bedroom and my study. They really don't like for me to go into one of those rooms. But I figure I shouldn't have to vacuum dog hairs everywhere.

Cicero - My daughter loved the first picture as well. They are such funny dogs.
