LIFE'S BETTER IN THE MOUNTAINS

We love Lucy

Want to see yet another photograph of Lucy determined not to look at me and the camera?

In spite of her love for pillows (shoes, chair rungs, hearth) Lucy often sleeps with her head lower than her body.  You figure.

We are having  such wonderful weather, especially for August.  Cool nights and crisp mornings.  Lots of rain early in the week.  And the leaf color predictions are already being printed.  I have no idea why they do that since there are such differing opinions.  All we know is that life has become more quiet around here and will get even better after Labor Day.  And for a few weeks we will have our mountains to ourselves before the leaf peepers come to town.

Today's quote is from Marian Wright Edelman, founder of the Children's Defense Fund:

"We are not going to deal with the violence in our communities or homes, and our nation, until we learn to deal with the basic ethic of how we resolve our disputes.  And to place an emphasis on peace in the way we relate to one another."

We wish for peace for those who are troubled in our country and all over our planet.

HAVE A WONDERFUL WEEKEND, EVERYONE!!!

I'm ready for a little cooler weather, although not looking forward to any extreme cold.

Awe, Lucy is adorable. Maggie likes to sleep that way as well. Too cute! Great quote, we could all learn something from that!

Love seeing Lucy not look at you. She's such a character! Glad your summer weather has been so mild. Here on the north California coast too, but no rain. Sigh.

You don't suppose she is wanted for some crime in another territory? She really seems determined not to be captured face on. The good thing is that she has a great profile.
Kind of curious about our leaf season also.

Amazing the different personalities that dogs have (just like us humans)... Lucy seems to different from Ellie... BUT--they all have different personalities.

I heard this week that our area farmers are having trouble getting enough HAY this year because of the cool spring and summer --and the dryness we have had... Kinda sad...

I wonder about winter --and read somewhere that we are going to have another colder than normal winter. I hope not---but we'll just have to wait and see...

YES---I wish there wasn't so much violence in our country and world... Very SAD.

Hugs,
Betsy

Harlow is such a ham in front of the camera - I don't know if we could keep the blog up if she wasn't! BOL!

I wish for peace in everyday life, just as you do.

Perhaps Lucy needs extra blood going to her brain? :) She is really a beauty, even when she's not looking at the camera.

Enjoy these wonderful days.

Our daughter and son-in-law have 3 dogs. All of them seem to stop and pose for the camera. Dogs add a lot of joy to everyday life. Your Lucy is a beautiful dog!

Peace would be nice... And another smile from Lucy. Maybe you should give her carrots again :)
