Hard freeze? What do you mean hard freeze? Don't you know the camellias are heavy with buds ready to open? And so many spring flowers are opening up?
We've had such beautiful weather this week that it's had to face the fact that this weekend will bring much cooler weather with a hard freeze tonight and tomorrow night. After several days of sunshine, it is gray and raining here. We're hoping the rain stops before the freeze.
Lucy loves the cooler weather but she hates the rain. She goes from window to window to see if it's raining everywhere. Finding out that it is, she plops down to snooze, occasionally resting on her bee pillow to stare out at the rain.

Not much reason to get up
We are fortunate (thanks to our daughter) to have little spring birds in the window sills. They all have little slickers and Wellies. Some of them carry umbrellas. Some of them have their cups of tea. I smile at them as they sit ready for the rain.

There are many good things about a rainy day after so many days of sunshine. I might finally pay some attention to the neglected housework. More likely, I will give a token stroke to the housecleaning and read or knit. And I'll join the birds in a cup of tea. Whatever your weather, I hope you enjoy this day and the weekend.
For many of you, there is still basketball to watch. I'll likely watch a few parts of games, but with UNC losing to Wisconsin last night, my interest has waned. Good luck to you if your team is still in the running.
Today's quote is anonymous but appropriate:
"Some days, you just have to create your own sunshine."
HAVE A WONDERFUL WEEKEND, EVERYONE
CREATE SOME SUNSHINE IN YOUR LIFE AND IN THE LIFE OF SOMEONE ELSE

Oh I do hope the camellias make it...they are so lovely and precious!
Oh, Lucy made me smile today! In the midst of a very demanding teaching schedule, I have had so many days when I would have loved just to look out the window, sigh, and go back to bed. Oh, wait...I did that yesterday...at least for awhile (afternoon class)
I can understand Lucy not liking the rain.....Nella is the same.
Hope that your camellia make it ....sometimes I cover with fleece to protect tender plants.
Have a good weekend.
Every time I see the Lucy post I am a bit surprised that it is again Friday. She does set off my weekend nicely though.
We got in the mid thirties last night but that was all. Nothing was harmed. Hope that is all you get also.
Hope all the flower buds survive the coming frost, and Lucy has some sunshine to play in very soon.
Happy Friday, Our bulbs are coming up and I'm concerned that it is too early-much too early. I would love the sunshine to stay; we can have some rain, but no snow please. Lucy is so precious. Love your spring decorations. Hope you have a wonderful weekend.
Hugs, Noreen
I've still got the Heart Attack Pack to watch - but I don't have my hopes up too high in that area. Once that game is over we'll probably skip basketball & I'll just keep track of the scores on the internet (for my poor bracket).
Love that Lucy! I've worked from home most of the week because I didn't want to go out into the rain. Today I saw snowflakes!
I'm hearing the squeak of sneakers as I type! I must say it drives me a little bit (more) crazy!
Aw, come on . . . ! You can still pull for Duke! It would be nice to see NC in the news for something positive instead of the stupid, regressive stuff coming out of our politicians. Go, Duke!
PS. Love the little birdies!
I guess it will just make us treasure the good days all the more ... is that creating my own sunshine? Compared to the rest of the U.S. we have so much to be thankful for.
Thanks for your comments, everyone.
