Winter Sky

We had bright sunshine during last week's chilly weather.  Sometimes the clouds looked like massive contrails from giant jets.

Taken from our deck

 Proof of the saying,
"If God is not a Tar Heel, why is the sky Carolina blue?"

Today the sun is obscured by clouds, rain, and fog.  At least for now the temperatures are above freezing but that may change later in the week.  We are prepared for the potential icy roads with a stocked larder and plenty of propane to run the generator.  But we do hope the rain stops before the next cold front comes in.

Here's hoping the sun soon returns to shine on all of us.  Even on the bitter Cowboy fans who mistakenly believe the Packers stole the game from them.

Love that sky! Even though I'm ABC (anybody but Carolina - I think we've discussed this before - go State!). I have a Dallas fan friend who said that Dallas should have lost because their defense disappeared in the last half.

We saw a hint of the sun several days ago. I miss it and I'm eagerly awaiting a return... and freezing my butt off while waiting!

We were all prepared for possibly being in the dark but it didn't happen. Hope you enjoy the same luck. May you generator remain silent.

Beautiful skies there. Hope the blue returns and plenty of sunshine to keep radiant solar heat shining through the windows! Stay warm and cozy!

I confess to being a sunny disposition when the sun shines through, and the opposite today. Sunshine was my signature on my art during the 70s when young people ruled society, or so it felt like to me.

Gorgeous skies! Glad you are prepared, but hopefully it won't be necessary.

Hi there, Pretty sky-such blue! We are cloudy and cold as well, with tons of snow on the ground yet. I am hoping for warmer days so I can get Hunter out walking. He just loves the chicken jerky and would rather eat that than dog food.
Hope you have a warm day today.
Hugs, Noreen

Ahem... I don't think that God is a Tarheel!!! (especially after all those bad things came out about the basketball program!).

Pretty skies though! There are a lot conspiracy theory nuts in our town who go crazy when it looks like there are big contrails around. They drive me nuts!!!!

Beautiful skies.
The sun seems to be a rare commodity these days.
I feel sometimes in the gloom that 'night is all day' :(
Still, hopefully Spring is not far away and the bulbs will be showing their faces.......

Hope you miss the power cuts......

Haha - okay, I don't know what a tar heel is, but the sky is beautiful!

I'm ready to see some Carolina blue skies -- we were socked in all day long.

Thanks for your comments, everyone.

Bug - So sad not to be a Carolina fan. But we've got State fans in our family as well.

KB - The whole academic thing was the work of one misguided person. And she's gone. Yes, I know you are a Dukie. But that's all right.

Sam - Tar Heel is the nickname of NC residents.
