Our Lucy is an observer. She watches carefully when we are completing tasks or putting something together. It's as if she is trying to learn how to do it herself. She is always interested in watching us take the ornaments off the tree and pack them away.
My husband was taking the very last of the ornaments down.
Hey Dad. Are you sure that is the right box?
Lucy, you be careful around those ornaments.
You talking to me, Mom? I'm always careful.
Just look at that sweet little praying cherub.
I'm a cherub too, aren't I?
I just don't have any wings.
And you gotta love an angel that dresses up for Christmas
And today I think I caught the last ornament hangar in my vacuum cleaner. What a nuisance. Catching something like that means stopping and removing the rollers to get out the metal. Happens several times every Christmas. At least we no longer have a real tree with falling needles to vacuum.
Our weather has been very chilly this week, with temperatures well below normal. Some days we did not get out of the 20s. You will notice that I did not use the word "cold." That's in deference to our daughter who went to work Monday with the Milwaukee temperature at MINUS 8 degrees. And to add insult to injury, they have had more snow. And our son and daughter-in-law in Indianapolis where the temperature did not get much above single digits. For us the sun has been shining every day and that makes all the difference.
Our quote for the day is often attributed to Voltaire. In truth it was made by Evelyn Beatrice Hall in a biography of Voltaire.
"I do not approve of what you say but I will defend to the death your right to say it."

Precisely the right quote...Je suis Charlie! Lucy is so cute in her delicate curiousity! I wish I had more students like her :-)
I like how Lucy keeps her eye on the action there. She's quite observant!
Wonderful quote. Yes, Je suis Charlie.
Awww, sweet Lucy, taking it all in and looking adorable.
I've had that quote in my head too. I don't like the cartoons that started all this but I HATE and deplore censorship by murder.
Lucy is adorable!
I was so glad this week that I could work from home - it was -8 in Xenia one morning. Brrr!
Very fitting quote this week...
Lucy looks like she took her job as supervisor seriously.
Totally agree with the quote.
It is truly cute how Lucy observes so carefully. She is the snoopervisor!
Your quote is perfect. Je suis Charlie.
Harlow wants to be involved in everything too, only we have to watch her because she takes things back out of the boxes.
Je suis Charlie!
Monty and Harlow
Good for supervisor Lucy...and a great activity when it's so cold outside!
those doggy tails must also be carefully watched...one sweep across the table and...voila! Ornaments gone.
Watching the weather maps has been fascinating. All those minus temps. NO. WAY. JOSE.
Enjoy your weekend!
Great quote.....Je suis Charlie.
Love Lucy and the Christmas ornaments.....such delightful images of her.
It is cold and wet here.......but as I speak the sun is peaking through.....perhaps Nella and I will get our early morning walk after all :)
Lucy is adorable and is indeed a cherub. I keep up so I know that your temperatures have been well below normal, but you're right. Compared to Milwaukee and other northern cities, NC is a bit better than there. Stay warm and enjoy your time indoors.

Lucy is such a cute little watcher!! Stay warm and enjoy the sunshine.
Thanks for your comments, everyone.
Vicki - I totally agree. I looked up some of the cartoons and they are truly awful. Intended for no reason other than to insult.
Sam Sees It - Silly Harlow. Lucy has never tried to pick up any of the items. She simply watches keenly.
Tara - Oh yes. We definitely keep everything out of the way of the wagging tail.
