We visit the Biltmore Estate in nearby Asheville frequently. Typically we go to see one certain area and spend a couple of hours enjoying the magnificent gardens. The focus of this trip last May was the azalea gardens.

We'll be heading back to the Biltmore on Thursday specifically to see the rose garden. Friday and Saturday the Biltmore hosts the International Rose Trials so we expect the roses to be in full bloom. The weather is supposed to be unseasonably warm (as opposed to our unseasonably cool weekend) and sunny. I can't wait.

Just beautiful. I have tried growing azaleas in Florida but have never succeeded.
Hi there, Oh how I love Azaleas. We had so many bushes in Ca. but here they don't grow as well. I also love seeing them in the south and in your area. Thank you for sharing.

@I haven't been to the Biltmore House in many years -- the gardens and the greenhouses are amazing, as is the whole shebang. I don't think I've ever been when the roses were in bloom -- tempting...

OH MY. . . !!!! I've never been there in the spring. That is certainly an oversight on my part. Azaleas didn't seem to do as well here this year. It was over too fast.
