I have had a terrible time with blogger and have not been able to post or to edit. Who knows what gremlins control the Internet?
The weather has been quite cold by anyone's standards and extremely cold by NC standards. The cold doesn't bother Lucy at all. In fact, she adores it.
We have allowed her to chew on an antler on her bed in the great room. Before Ellie's death, we allowed them to have chewies and toys only in the den. But since we felt Lucy needed something to occupy her, we relented. She loves the antlers.
Yum, yum
She pays no attention to me, concentrating only on the antler
Finally she glances up at me briefly, then continues her chewing.
This is along the road near home.
Today's quote is appropriate for the start of a new year. Walter Elliot said,
Perseverance is not a long race; it is many short races one after the other.
Here's hoping my blogger problems are resolved. If not, I will restart using Wordpress. Hope you are all having a good weekend.

Blogger DOES have it's moments! Sorry you are having problems and hope they get squared away.
When moving water freezes, I know it's too cold for me! Brrrr! Glad Lucy doesn't seem to mind.
Hello Friend! Its been too long since I stopped by your blog, and I'm glad there is a post this evening to remind me to do just that. I've thought of you in the past several weeks as I mourn the loss of our precious Wendy in early December, I though of you also mourning the loss of your beloved Ellie. I'm glad that Lucy is feeling better. It reminds me of when we lost Toby's life companion, named 'Bubba.' He mourned his loss, as we all did, but the spark returned, and Toby became his own shining star, as your Lucy appears to be doing. I'm glad you enjoyed your holiday and I wish you and your family all the very, very best for 2014--And I hope blogger behaves for you too!! :-)
I'm glad to hear that you are pampering Lucy. She and you have been through so much that it's a good time to suspend the rules. Our dogs love antlers too...
That frozen water(fall?) photo is incredibly sparkly and beautiful. At least the cold has brought some new beauty to your world.
I haven't greeted you yet, Happy New Year. I have also the whole of Saturday figuring out what happened to my 2 blogsites, first it was just 1 then the 2nd followed. It's funny how blogs can wreck havoc to our days. I saw a photo inserted in comments by spammers which i can't delete at all. I sacrificed cleaning the house and laundry that Sat. Finally Sun morning it was good again, perhaps it really is blogger that has problems.
Dogs also occupy our lives, my sister cannot attend live-in seminars because of her dogs, can't even travel. Oh that last picture is magnificent, amazing, just like a suspended falls!
We have those frozen weeping rock cliffs also. Amazing.
How nice that Lucy is getting some special considerations. She looks like she is really enjoying that antler.
The antlers are awesome…..and last forever.
I thought about switching to wordpress last year. I even made an account but didn't find it user friendly. I made the mistake of setting up the account with the same email as my blogger and that caused problems with leaving comments on wordpress blogs. :)
Best of luck!
So glad to see some shots of Lucy looking like she's happy again...and that her missing Ellie will also be something that she can pass through and continue being her own darling self. That rock face with ice is beautiful.
We are having blogger problems as well. I tried using a different browser (I use Firefox), and I was able to do a post (in Safari). What I have noticed is that even though I am logged into blogger, my blog still has a "sign in" logo at the top. Yes, something has definitely gone awry at blogger, but don't give up. Try switching browsers and see what happens. Always glad to see Lucy having a good time!
I haven't seen any issues - knock on wood. I'm glad Lucy is feeling more comfortable.

Sorry about your blogger problems and also your generator problems. Having parts and machines and clothes fall apart when practically new seems to be a condition of living in our life now. Poor quality abounds no matter what you pay for it. There are a few companies that still sell excellent products -- thankfully. -- barbara
