Another Memorial Day and we are still at war. Our country still has men and women in harm's way. Our country suffers in many ways because of it. Will it always be so? Will we ever see peace in our day?
As in the words of the folk song, "When will they ever learn? When will they ever learn?"

I'm truly hopeful that come this time next year, things will be different. The sacrifices others have made boggles the mind.
Pride goeth before tha fall...
Will it ever happen?
I'm imagining that to be the Peter, Paul & Mary version?
Oh, Pete Seeger, how you have enriched our lives. I pray for that day, dear friend.
As one who came of age during the Vietnam conflict, I am so saddened by our inability to learn. We think we can solve all things by war. It is not so.
However, I do not blame those who serve for the leaders' inability to understand.
sigh. same as it ever was. the world over and since time began. It seems to be deep within our nature, this need for war. I used to believe someday the world would evolve beyond it, now I'm not so sure it ever will.
so all I can do is honor the fallen, the ones who have served (often because it was the only path life offered them), and despise those who drag countries into these conflicts.
No war?? Such a dream....I hope we see it to realization. and soon.
Sadly, it will always be so... we will never learn.
Hi Mom, Ellie and Lucy...is it as hot in the beautiful NC Mtns as it is in the Piedmont? 88 with about 78% humidity here. We are hunkered down in the a/c. Hopefully we'll get some rain this afternoon.
Hugs Madi and Mom
