We seem to have a lot of them this year. We have three feeders and a guardian hummingbird at each one. We saw one of them challenge a goldfinch that dared to perch on the branch with the hummingbird. The goldfinch left.
This particular bird often sits on the hook above the feeder as if daring anyone to approach.
Finally, there must be lots of job opportunities for proof-readers.

We've been seeing the male hummers for a little over a week now. I worry about them with the chilly nights we've had.
We've been making more hummingbird juice than ever before. Sometimes a quart a day! Six on the feeder at once, and a few dive-bombing them for their seat. They are the fiercest little things.
Correct spelling is so 20th century.

Hummingbirds....so very beautiful. I always get excited when bloggers in the states post them. They are for sure a most exquisite species.
great bird shot - what a handsome fella. we have many hummers around here, and I often hear them buzzing around the yard while I'm sitting quietly outside.

We finally saw our first hummingbird this afternoon. They may have been around earlier, but we didn't see any before we left for the beach. Now we just have to get some good pictures.
I'm hoping the hummers grace me w/ their presence again this spring! I have my feeders ready!

Oh, and the answer is--YES, your eductaion not only WILL be hurt, but it already HAS been.
I have a little male coming to the feeder, but I've not seen many females yet. Had one get caught in hubby's garage the other night, but was able to climb a ladder and gently grasp her in my palm before taking her out and telling her to stay out of the garage. :c)
Eductaion always suffers with gas...lol!
I haven't seen any hummingbirds in Michigan, but it's been so cold and rainy here.

Thank you for reminding me to get out those hummingbird feeders! They bring such wonderful playful energy to the garden zooming in and out!
How nice to have him perch for you. They are very elusive in our area. I saw only 3 last year...very, very briefly too.
So you have all the Hummingbirds...we have been wondering where they are.
