My husband takes the box downstairs, puts away the medicine, and gives the girls their treats. This month however, he gave the girls their cookies and left the box on the table.
Lucy is always quick to pick up on the slightest difference in a pattern. She knows something is different.
Something is wrong. I'd better check this out. I'm not going to touch it, I just want to look more closely.
Oh, my gosh, Mom! Come here. You are not going to believe this!!!
This is absolutely disgusting!!! I have never been so insulted in my life.
What made Lucy so disgusted? The company had sent Frontline for CATS! We called the company and a pleasant representative laughed. The company recently went robotic in the warehouse and there are still a few problems to work out.
In a few days we received another box with the correct medicines and a postage paid package to return the feline medications. Lucy was very happy to see the cat stuff gone. She was quite forgiving, especially when she realized they sent another pair of cookies.
Life seems so simple for dogs. They live in the "now" and don't worry about tomorrow. They accept what you give them and love you unconditionally. They greet you at the door with enthusiasm whether you've been gone for an hour or gone for a day. And no matter what...they keep on wagging. Perhaps we need to learn those lessons ourselves. Wouldn't our lives be happier if we could love unconditionally and greet one another with enthusiasm?
Have a wonderful weekend, everyone...and keep on wagging.

So true about dogs -- almost everything is greeted with unbounded enthusiasm -- a walk -- a dog biscuit -- a ride -- going out --coming in . . . but not cat meds!
That look is priceless!!
We humans could learn a lot from dogs.
Have a great weekend!
What a girl! Lucy is so smart.
I agree about dogs and their behavior. It is hard to improve on it. I would rather spend time with a dog than many people have met.
We really should follow our Dogs' examples to live simply and love generously!
Carolyn~~~~~~ I'm on the blog trying to catch up! The Girls are just GORGEOUS as ALWAYS! Loved the
"caddies" ! Your Camellia's are beautiful! I tried to grow them in Tennessee and the same thing happened. Here they are native and thrive! XOXO :)
Ha, ha!
We fortunately don't have fleas up here ... at the coast yes, but not up here.
Your observations give the phrase 'going to the dogs' a whole new perspective. Perhaps we should do so. I'm glad the problem with the wrong medication got worked out so nicely.
LOVE Fridays are Golden! And we certainly could learn a lot from our 4 legged loves.
How true that is....the walk a dog takes with you is the best walk ever etc etc. Perhaps us humans have much to learn from our much loved pets.
Love the cat medication story....made me smile. Late one evening this week Nella and a cat had a bit of a rough and tumble, to say the least. Nella has scratched ears and the neightbours cat had a few minor injuries.
Nella does not like the cat, the cat does not like Nella......
Oh Yuk....CATS!!!!! ha ha ha..... Lucy knew something was different, didn't she????? Glad your company worked it all out for you. That's a GOOD company for sure...
Yes---wish we had that unconditional love that we see in our dogs... We do need to be more like them.
Hugs,
Betsy
Marge hates getting her Frontline, cat version or not (not that she's ever had cat version!). She sees the box and she cringes, as if it's going to kill her once it makes contact with her skin.
And, yeah, I think there are a lot of lessons that we can take from dogs.
Good thing your dogs discovered that cat picture on that package...the look on her face tells it all! lol!
Oh you said it! Meeting and greeting the peeps after just 10 mins. away is priceless! Have a wonderful weekend! (Funny that you received cat meds!)
Hugs xo

Carolyn -- What a great story, and I'm so glad you had your camera nearby to capture the moment and delight us! I'm sure our cats would have the same expression if I somehow tried to dog-Frontline them!
That is the best thing about dogs - they forgive so easily and don't hold grudges!
Sam
Poor Lucy. Glad the company fixed it so fast.
Absolutely spot on about a dog's behavior and attitude.
I try so hard to learn those lessons from my dogs. They're the best teachers.
Hmmm, but I must mention, they accept anything BUT CAT medicines!!!!
Dogs are great teachers! Great playmates and great comedians! I can't imagine my life without them.
Oh, to have a dog's sensibility and loyalty! A good example for us humans!
Sweet post about the incorrect pet supply!
Kitty cats are filled with unconditional love too..a bit more independant that dogs are and think that CATS RULE!!(=^.^=)
We have always had unconditional love from our dogs but unfortunately human interactions are more complex. I guess that is why we all benefit from having a pet.
