LIFE'S BETTER IN THE MOUNTAINS

Fridays are Golden

Very much like children, our two dogs play together a lot. And like children, one almost always seems to be far more interested in the game than the other.

Lucy grabs the blue tug with an idea in mind.

Ellie is not at all interested and tries to walk away.

But Lucy persists, pushing the blue tug into Ellie's face.

Very quickly Ellie gets the upper hand and Lucy is lying submissive on the floor. But Lucy doesn't stay down long.

I have no explanation for the picture here. Both dogs raise their heads as if sniffing the breeze and the tug lies forgotten on the floor.

At the end of the day, the tug-of-war ends like it always does. Lucy always gives up even when she is the instigator. And Ellie always wins.
Here she flashes her broad smile in victorious possession of the blue tug.

And so it's Friday again. And a memorable Friday as well. IT'S THE LAST DAY OF WINTER!!! I haven't looked forward to the coming of spring so much since I left Wisconsin. We're expecting beautiful weather today and tomorrow, followed by a twenty-degree drop in temperatures accompanied by more rain. Our thoughts go out to those in flooded areas of the Midwest as they wait for rivers to crest.
Have a wonderful weekend, everyone. Stay safe and do something nice for yourself and something nice for someone else.

My son's two dogs have a similar game in which Ali Ali (the younger) Keeps shoving his 'binky' in Otis's face till Otis will finally play with him.

Enjoy this beautiful day!

Winter left us very early, but I do appreciate the lengthening days. Happy spring to you and your golden girls!

Two of my dogs are the same way.. and it's pretty routine when the play. Sometimes the old guy joins in, but, usually he just fusses at them.
And I say - fare thee well winter!
Have a great weekend!

I think were ALL looking forward to Spring this year!!!(more so than previous years)

Your Ladies keep one another entertained, which is great for them. They must have gotten a scent of something with both their noses in the air...

May this Spring bring you All that you have anticipated...

I've been really looking forward to spring too. It's a bright sunshiney day out my work window - I think I'll go out at lunch just to soak in some of the rays!

Enjoy a weekend of pleasant weather.
I love how dogs get that burst of FUN energy and then just as quickly as it started, they go down for a nap.
Until next time....

We have spring a month early here! Unbelievable really.

Love your golden girls ... they are such characters. When Mingus is about three, I would consider another pup. We shall see.

I think we have all been looking forward to a warm spring. Hibernation has been way too long this winter.....

May the sun shine on you and yours this weekend......

Looks like a perfect day ladies :)

Sam is a little spoiled - seeing how he is the only dog. We often talk about getting him a companion, but we kind of like the one-on-one interaction with him...

Lovely photos of the girls playing. I wonder if they both smelled something at the same instant?

Yes, springtime is truly here. We got 2' of snow yesterday. That's spring in the Rockies...

Enjoy your warmth!

Always love the games that The Herd dreams up. The rules seem to change constantly, the goal totally unclear, and the dogs have an amazing sense of fairness to keep everyone entertained.
