Fridays are Golden

Visitors to our door are greeted by our witch flying overhead. To them and to all of you...HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!

This week we took the Golden Girls to Lake Wanteska, another lake in our community. They loved running through the grass over the dam. As always, they started out at breakneck speed.

After a rather prolonged sprint, both dogs slowed down and meandered through the leaves.
They loved the new smells at the water's edge.

Ellie thought this picture made her look fat and unkempt. The girls had a wrestling match and somehow Ellie's ears always end up wet. Hmm, have any idea how that happens, Lucy?
Lucy sits briefly. Then she takes off again.

After a long play period, both girls are ready to head home.
This is the last Friday in October. We go back on Standard Time, so don't forget to change your clocks (and smoke detector batteries). Election Day is Tuesday, so make time to vote if you haven't already done so.
And above all, have a safe and fun weekend, doing some of the things your love.

Happy Halloween to you too!
Do your dogs go in the water? They sure do have sweet faces.

Another happy golden Friday! I'm not looking forward to the time change, though - ugh. I'm surprised you don't end up with both dogs in the lake! You'd end up with a lot worse than wet ears!

Happy Halloween Back!

Cute witch!

Love the Golden Girls as usual ... they add a bright spark to every Friday ... a little golden glow to a rather dull day!

Love to watch dogs jump in the water, they seem to have such a good time. We have Brittany Spaniels and they also love water...but they get more wet than their ears! Have to carry lots of towels when we visit a lake!! Beautiful pictures! Have a good weekend!

I'll be working this weekend (Boo Hiss), but will be continuing to soak in the beauty of your girls and the mountains around you.

P.S. I've sent that post on to other friends to just gasp at the beauty Carolyn. :c)

Yes, I voted on Wednesday. The lines were wrapped around the building at my campus. Like most people, I'll celebrate 11-5-08.

I always feel my dogs are missing a great deal by not being able to gallop freely around the beautiful surroundings you have. Your lovelies are truly GOLDEN!

Thank you for the nomination, Carolyn. Your kind words made me smile... So, you know about that homemade swallow nest? :o) Send me your e-mail address? To:

Lynne - I feel a little guilty about it, but we have not allowed them to swim. We do let them wade in the creeks.

Dog Geek - At least we won't have to wait for the sun to come up before taking them out in the mornings.

Betsy - Oh, I am also looking forward to the end of this election.

Cheryl - Thanks. We do so enjoy them.

Cyclop - Halloween is a fun holiday.

Cicero - With all the things you do, I can't imagine a dull day around your house.

Tina - I love to watch OTHER people's dogs swimming in the lakes.

Jayne - Sorry you have to work. I do remember those weekend shifts.

Bird girl - Thanks. We stay within the community during hunting season.

Wayfaring - Every day with those two is a fun day.

Mary - Our dogs are much bigger. I think the Lickers have plenty of running room in your yard.

Fishing guy - Thanks. I've been reading your blog regularly, but haven't commented too often. You have quite a following.

What beautiful dogs, they look like they had a fun day. I don't like to turn back the clocks because the days seem too short. Please come by sometime.
