We Love Lucy

Our Lucy is fascinated by almost everything.  She watches intently when we open a package or are doing minor work in the house.  She oversaw every ornament that went on the Christmas tree.

She watches birds at the feeders.  She is totally taken with crows and keeps her eyes on them whenever they are around.  Lucy even watches airplanes in the air.  Every now and then she gets a special treat.  Occasionally a helicopter will fly over the house.  Sometimes it is an air lift from the community helipad to take someone to the hospital.  Other times it is someone looking at our community to purchase land.  Whatever the reason, a helicopter mesmerizes Lucy.

Lucy sits on the deck.  She will follow the helicopter until it disappears from sight.

When we lived in WI, there were more planes to see and Lucy never tired of them.  So she is especially glad to see one here in the mountains.

January is half over.  The son of our blogger friend remains in the hospital awaiting a new heart.  (here)  If you are a person who believes in the power of prayer, please pray for this young man.  If you do not pray, please send positive thoughts to him and his family.

Today's quote is from Golda Meir:

Trust yourself.  Create the kind of self that you will  be happy to live with all your life.  Make the most of yourself by fanning the tiny, inner spark of possibility into flames of achievement.

HAVE AND WONDERFUL AND SAFE WEEKEND, EVERYONE!!!

God bless you for keeping Michael in your thoughts and prayers! This has been a brutal week for him. They took him to the OR on Tuesday and moved the pump out of his groin and put it higher, so he could try to have some mobility... and it failed. Wednesday, they tried (in the room) to reposition it and couldn't, so it was back to the OR. Still couldn't make it work, so they took it out and put a Swan back in his neck... so now he is without an assist pump and in tons of pain from the failed procedures. Thank goodness for pain medication, but even that has drawbacks. I hate seeing my child suffer and not be able to do anything to help him!

Lucy would have a field day around the Medical Center, with all the helicopters flying around!

I am so sorry to read of Michael's medical situation. I have been thinking of him and sending the best, most positive healing vibes his way. I hope for an excellent pain-free outcome.

Very sweet to see Lucy looking skyward. It's interesting to consider what she must be thinking when she's sees and hears these human machines in the sky.

Its times like that when you wish you could know what Lucy was thinking and she could understand your answers.

And yes, I do believe in the power of prayer and will keep your friend in mine...

I've noticed how my dogs are mesmerized (and sometimes scared) by helicopters. It has made me think that there should be "no fly" zones over national wilderness areas, so the animals don't have to cope with helicopters.

I am sending my thoughts for Michael. I hope that he gets a heart very soon.

From one Michael to another, prayers are offered! Dear Lucy...she would be SO fascinated with our Ohio...crows and planes and helicopters, oh my! It would be too much of a good thing, I daresay. :-)

My Michael is fascinated with planes too - he often takes picture of them that I don't put on my P365 posts :)

Sorry to read about Michael, your blogger friend's son, continuing to be in such pain. We will add him and his family to our growing prayer list. It never seems to get shorter, sadly. Lucy is a very inquisitive dog for sure.

That reminds me so much of my Cisco. She used to love to watch planes and helicopters too - I always thought it was fitting since my Dad was a pilot. She lost her sight due to a bad reaction to valley fever medicine, but I'll always remember her stopping during a walk to watch something fly overhead.

Such wonderful memories.

Thanks for your comments, everyone.
Yes, I have no doubt Lucy would love the open skies of the Midwest.
