You already know how much Lucy loves to watch the birds. Well, she also loves to watch bugs or anything that moves on the deck, sometimes a leaf blowing in the breeze.
We had a repairman doing some work downstairs, so we put a gate at the top of the steps. The girls do not like gates.
I REALLY need to go down there and check on things.
Ellie also wants to see what is going on down there.
Lucy's right for a change. We do need to go down there.
Finally they decide to take a snooze. Lucy always finds something to use as a pillow, in this case the pedestal of the kitchen table.
If I'm comfortable, what difference does it make to you?
Her favorite pillow (of course) is Ellie.
Ellie is a lot softer than the table.
Whatever your plans may be, have a wonderful weekend. Can you believe July is almost half gone?

That last picture is a perfect capture of loving sister contentment!
You have a good weekend too.
Love those golden girls. My dog also does not like gates--but they are essential to keep her from tearing delivery person limb from limb!
No, I can't believe that July is almost half gone!
Your Golden Girls are lovely. I do like Golden Retrievers.
What beautiful dogs! We have one that we think is part golden and part collie.
Gotta love those beautiful dogs! And no - I can't believe how fast time is flying!
Your girls are so pretty Carolyn and they truly LOOK as if they are thinking exactly what you caption for them!
Just sweet, beautiful dogs!
Dogs and birds are among my favorite things. Running across your blog I was entranced. Thanks for sharing

They are the picture of contentment - except for the gates!
We live with gates here full-time, for the bunnies, and they are a pain and Luka would rather not have them either.
Love your dogs; dogs are one of my fav things; looks like you have a wonder ful set-up there!
Thanks, all. Yes, they really do hang out together and are usually found within a few feet of each other. Occasionally, Ellie will go down to her crate for some peace and quiet. That's the only place Lucy won't follow.
Donna - The gate is to keep them from licking someone to death. And to keep the hourly person from spending his time petting dogs instead of working.
When we first moved in, we used gates to "remind" them that they aren't allowed in my study, the library, the upstairs guest room, or our bedroom. I see no reason to vacuum dog hairs everywhere in the house.
Your girls seem to get a long so well! July does seem to be flying by!!
No, I cannot believe July is almost half gone. I'm still in June.
I use a baby gate on my front porch so they can have a different view of the world. Your dogs are sweet mates and I enjoy them so much. They looks so well groomed and huggable!
