We Love Lucy

Our Lucy just loves the cooler weather we have enjoyed this week.  She runs and runs in the crisp mornings and snoozes in the sunny afternoons.

Happy Lucy smiling as she runs

Today is rainy and I doubt we will see the sun.  But rainy days are nice too and summer is a wonderful time of year here in the mountains.

The quote this week is from architecture critic and writer Ada Louise Huxtable who won the first-ever Pulitzer Prize for Criticism.  (Did you have any idea there was a Pulitzer for criticism?)

"Summer is the time when one sheds one's tensions with one's clothes, and the right kind of day is jeweled balm for the battered spirit.
A few of those days and you can become drunk with the belief that all's right with the world."

May you have days that are jeweled balm for your spirit.

HAVE A WONDERFUL WEEKEND, EVERYONE!!!

She looks extremely happy! We very seldom get a "cool" break from the heat here. We had some rainy days and it brought our temps down to an even 100.

Had no idea there was a Pulitzer for criticism. Huh?? Still, I do agree with the sentiment and you can add running dog with smile to that quote about balm.

I love Lucy!!!!! AND---I love the Summer Rains too... We need them, and it has rained a tiny bit today--but mostly drizzle (which I will take)...

It's been a very cool week --and I could get used to this... BUT--wonder what August will give us???? ha ha

The quote is wonderful. I am drunk with the belief that all is right with the world on the absolutely perfect summer days.

Lucy does look very carefree and happy in that great photo.

I have discovered, at our local dog park, many many Goldens. "Ours" is 2 years old and still thinks he's a pup who can climb into our laps. Because he does.

Getting to know this fella makes me appreciate your Friday posts even more. Even when it takes me until Monday to read them!!
