More Than a Hound Dog

They may be able to find little more than their food and water dishes right now.  But the two new sheriff deputies in neighboring Henderson County will grow into their jobs.  The Sheriff's office has two ten-week-old bloodhound puppies who will be trained to assist the department in finding missing persons and/or to track suspects.

Just doesn't get more adorable than a puppy, does it?

The county has a STAR (Sheriff Teaching Abuse Resistance) program and the fifth graders in the program will submit names for the two little female puppies.  Winners will have an opportunity to meet the puppy  in person  in canine to meet the puppy he or she named.

Stories like this make me smile.

Hi there, Oh what adorable puppies-I love bloodhounds! What a job they do though.Of course, I haven't seen any puppies I don't like. One of my grandsons may be getting a puppy in the next several months-a Standard Poodle and I simply can't wait! Nothing like a puppies kisses and sweet smell. Thanks for sharing these wonderful pups with us!
Hugs,
Noreen

Those puppies are so cute! The sheriffs must be having fun playing with them! I imagine that those dogs will be a great resource in a mountain area like yours.

Puppies always look so floppy and cuddly, and bloodhounds have those looks in abundance.

There is a bloodhound across the street from me, Mr. Ming, who is a service dog for a disabled gentleman. He is quite the celebrity here any time he is outside. On the rare occasions that he barks (or "bays" is more like it), no one has to wonder which dog is making noise. We all can tell Mr. Ming's distinctive call.

Great looking little gals...won't they have their work cut out for them training for Police work!

They are purely adorable. Think they have enough extra skin between them to make another puppy. Let us know what names they end up with.

Well they do look so cute ... but they go on to do a very important job.
Once the decisions are made, do please let us know what their names are.

All the best Jan
