LIFE'S BETTER IN THE MOUNTAINS

Fridays are Golden

This afternoon I was out taking some pictures and noticed Lucy staring at me from the dining room window. Interesting discovery. If you take a photograph with a 300mm lens and shoot through a screen at your dog, the resulting picture looks almost like a painting.

My friend and I had such a nice visit despite the fact that the miserable weather kept us indoors more than we would have liked. The Golden Girls loved having yet another person to pet them. After my friend left I was carrying the linen and towels from the guest bedroom. Ellie started sniffing the towels and sniffed them all the way to the laundry room. They miss her already and so do I.

School has started in some Western NC counties. I can tell the sun is setting a bit earlier every day and it's hard to believe summer is winding down. Seems as if it just got here.

HAVE A WONDERFUL WEEKEND WHATEVER YOU ARE DOING. STAY SAFE AND FIND MORE THINGS FOR WHICH TO GIVE THANKS THAN FOR WHICH TO COMPLAIN.

Yes, the picture does look like a painting. Other than shorter days, I like late summer and early fall. Cooler days and nights, harvest,-my favourite time of year.

Looks like a woven tapestry to me. Why does she look so forlorn?

I discovered the screen thing one day while trying to take a picture of a bird, only mine didn't turn out as good as yours,I think distance probably has a lot to do with it.
I can't believe summer days are coming to an end but fall is my favorite time of year!
Have a blessed weekend.

That looks like a lovely Lucy painting!
Glad you had a great visit, no matter the weather.
Our dogs love visitors as well, they are spoiled aren't they??? Sweetly so.

I will definitely have to try taking a photo through the screen-such a beautiful effect. We are seeing sings of fall here in Colorado too-I think it is way too soon.
Have a wonderful weekend.

It really is a surreal looking picture of Lucy! I love finding different ways to photograph our crew, and you've given me an idea I've not thought of--Thanks for that!
I'm glad you had a nice visit with your friend, and I hope you have a wonderful weekend!! ~Cooler weather on its way to Virginia!~

What a lovely photo - but your doggy does look sad. Summer just arrived up here two weeks ago. It's been hazy, hot and a bit humid - nothing like down south though if memory serves me well. Cool nights and fall coming sound great!

It does look like a painting. Neat. I too can't believe how much shorter the days are already. Sort of a lost summer for me but I must say, I like the cooler temperatures of fall!

Happy Sunday,
We love Lucy's picture through the screen. Very artsy!!!

Mom and Dad just got home from the beautiful NC mountains yesterday.
She will be posting some very pretty pictures tomorrow. They were in Boonville, Boone and Blowing Rock. Blowing Rock had the most pleasant temperatures for the weekend,

Like your "screen painting." Gives one ideas on taking some unusual photos. Wonderful to have visitors. Right now I have my son visiting from New Mexico and a daughter and grandson coming in this week from Connecticut. We all love being together. -- barbara
