Should'a got a Mac

I gave serious thought about switching to Mac when I bought my last laptop. I've had so much trouble with my PC today that I'm sure I made a mistake. Of course, the problems are all different and inconsistent. (The Geeks call it a hiccup.) When a Web page can't be loaded, my PC asks if I want to send a report. I click that I do want to send a report and suddenly the Web page in question appears. You figure.

I thought my worst nightmare was when I had the very first version of Windows XP. Not only was it totally vulnerable, Microsoft would send out security alerts which of course encouraged every hacker around to try to break into the lapsed security. My computer got infected several times while I was going Online to get the required patch. Bill Gates never told me I was beta testing his new version.

So I shouldn't get so frustrated when my computer decides to goof off for a little while. I run my protection frequently and don't do stupid things but by golly, why can't it just work smoothly ALL the time? Is that too much to ask?

Enough whining. Ironically, a friend sent me this today:

And I saw this one on Punditkitchen.

How appropriate.

Well---I could have told you so!!!! ha ha (Not what you needed to hear today though I'm sure!)

I seriously don't understand why people don't switch to a Mac... We seldom IF ever have a problem... BUT--learning a mac is different at FIRST... It's much more user-friendly than Windows --but it is a little different when trying to learn...

I advise you to switch sometime --if you can!!!!

Love that little 'window' someone sent you... Wine would be nice when you are having problems with Windows!!!! Cute!

Good Luck.
Hugs,
Betsy

I blame my PC's recent quirks on the heat. Heck, I blame MY recent quirks on the heat.

Made the same mistake years ago. One day at exactly midnight plus 1 second. GONE - my entire hard drive froze, never to be thawed again. Been a mac gal ever since.

Went Mac a few years ago and have never looked back. Hands down, the best computer decision I ever made.

I hate to tell you this, but I switched to a Mac a few months ago after spending my entire computer life on a PC. It was the best thing I ever did - no problems so far, and it loads in seconds when I turn it back on. Even an old-gal like me learned to use it in no time. Plus, I'm told not to worry about viruses - we'll see.

Carolyn, I feel your pain. I have come so close to throwing my laptop out the nearest window so many times. Computers are wonderful when they work, but they can drive you crazy when they don't!

I'm sorry to hear about the problems you're having with your computer. I converted Betsy to a Mac after we got married (I've never had a Windows machine as my personal computer) and I think she's happy she made the switch.

Started using Macs at the university over 20 years ago. We had a PC at home, but the Mac was such a great product that we decided we had to have one. We've never looked back. We do, however, still have a PC laptop as well because there are some applications and online sites that are only PC compatible.

Next computer, make it a Mac.

Sounds like it's playing "chicken" with you.

I have a Mac but it asks if I want to report screwups, too. I always do because one of the Mac guys told me that when they get enough of them, they actually write the code to fix it in an update. (Wonder how many is "enough"?)

Take a set amount of money in a piggy bank every time your pc annoys you. When you have enough there, head off to the Apple store. You'll never regret buying a Mac.

Yeah..i threaten to get a mac every now and then..
But..i am so familiar with PCs and what they can do.
dont know if I will ever change..
Maybe you should get an IPad.

We switched back in 2005 and like most people, have never looked back. Oh, the bad memories of all the pop ups and instability of a PC! Yes, our hard drive died after three years, but with Time Machine and an external hard drive, all we did was take it in for a new hard drive to be installed (covered fully by our Apple Care Plan) and reload everything in minutes. LOVE IT!

I love Rudee's suggestion! That money should come together fast, lol! So sorry you're having troubles. Love my Mac - no more issues! Cute pop-up!!

I just wish the people who create the viruses would stop. And let the rest of the world enjoy something for a change. I just don't understand why people do that.
