LIFE'S BETTER IN THE MOUNTAINS

Fridays are Golden

A couple of weeks ago, we took the girls to Ticoa Park within our community. This week we took them to the other end of the lake, to the dam. Ticoa is an earthen dam and the lake at the dam is a popular fishing spot.

Docks of differing styles line the perimeter of the lake. Here Ellie trys to coax Lucy to come down the stairs to the dock.

Come on, Lucy. It's easy and Mom won't mind.

Lucy joined her and the two of them checked out the dock. You should click to enlarge and see the wide smile on Lucy's face, along with her tail raised so high it curls.

Wow! This is great!

Ellie abruptly decided to break loose and run, leaving Lucy far behind.

Hey, wait up!

Lucy ran as hard as she could to catch up.
Why did she take off like that?

They ran down, and then up every set of stairs on every dock we came upon.
Let's try to stay together.

The girls had such a great time and got some really good exercise running the banks as well as the stairs. They did not stop for a moment to enjoy the view from the top of the dam. The afternoon was clear and crisp. Both the canine and human members of the family enjoyed the afternoon.

After such strenuous exercise, the girls just collapsed. Lucy invariably lies down next to Ellie.

The election is over. Regardless of your politics, let's all join together as citizens to support the newly elected, nationally and locally.
Have a wonderful weekend. Stay safe and take some time for yourself!

Gosh, after watching your dogs run up and down those stairs I'm, also, feeling a bit tired. Don't you just love having two dogs that get along. We had two Brittany (spaniels), an aunt and nephew and they always hung out together... the aunt lived to be 16 1/2 and she left us last yr. but the nephew still keeps us moving!! Dogs are great!! Love your golden Fridays!! Have a good weekend!

Wow, I was worried! No "Fridays are Golden" post before I left for work this morning. Glad to find your girls in good form this evening.

I swear, your Friday posts with the girl may as well be about your outing with your kids. They act just like kids and their expressions are just as precious!

Betsy - Actually, they aren't really spoiled. They are dogs and they know it. No people food, no getting on furniture, etc. But they surely are loved to death.

Ruth - You may have noted that I took the stairs picture from above. The stairs, along with the other running really wiped them out.

Cheryl - Thanks. They really are wonderful companions, to each other and to us.

Dog Geek - Amen

Donna - I wish you could see them running in real life. Their coats just fly in the wind.

Helen - Thanks

Tina - Yes, we love having two dogs. When we got Lucy three years ago, it was the first time for us to have two at a time. They do seem to enjoy one another.

Kathi - Oh they are in fine form. That romp on the stairs and slopes really gave them quite a workout.

Cicero - They are often together as they run and play.

Jayne - Yes, they are definitely family outings...it's just that some of the family members are canine.

I love your dogs. They seem so happy to be outside and enjoying the day. Your folliage pictures are so pretty and makes me already miss the leaves we had here in New England that have already fallen off of the trees.

Your girls are soulmates, proved in every "Fridays are Golden". Those Carolina blue skies are reflected in that water. The weather has been amazing, hasn't it?

And yes, the election is over and we are all hopeful. I think good things will happen. It's very exciting!

Carolyn your girls are so beautiful! Loved the smiling face.

Thank you so much for your kind words and prayers. It meant so much to us.

the fall colors in your previous post are glorious. And my heart went out to the mother bear. Heart wrenching. And what are people thinking of abusing their children like that. I could go on a rampage over that issue but I won't here.

thanks again for the beautiful pictures.
