LIFE'S BETTER IN THE MOUNTAINS

We Love Lucy

We've had some sunny autumn days, some very windy days, and now some very rainy days.  Like the old saying, "If you don't like the weather in the mountains, just wait another day and it will change."

Despite her age and arthritis, Lucy still loves a day at the park.  She doesn't run nearly as much, but she does trot often enough to get some exercise and then she rests.  When she was younger, we had to force her to to sit and rest but now she seems to know when to rest herself.  She is still a thing of beauty with her long floofy hair flying in the breeze.  She has always had a rather strange sitting posture and it makes her look much larger than she really is.

Sitting in the soft moss at the park.

We were all stunned at the shooting in a Pittsburgh synagogue this week.  It was a hate crime and 11 people were killed.  The people were gathered for a bris of a baby boy.  The event shocked and saddened many of us.  The President of the United States indicated that outcome would have been far better if there had been an armed guard at the synagogue.  An armed guard at a bris?  Seriously?

I leave you with a quote from the late Haile Selassie:

"We must become bigger than we have been
More courageous, greater in spirit, larger in outlook.
We must become members of a new race,
Overcoming petty prejudice,
Owing our ultimate allegiance not to nations
But to our fellow men within the human community."

HAVE A WONDERFUL WEEK, EVERYONE
IF YOU HAVEN'T ALREADY...VOTE
AND REMEMBER WE ARE NOT THE ONLY PEOPLE ON OUR PLANET

Lucy is still quite lovely! That quote says it all. After I'd spent a year & a half in Zambia I came home saying that people needed to live in another country for a while so they'd realize that the US isn't the only place on earth. But now even our own country is fractured. Actually, it feels like it's been fractured since the beginning.

Lucy is an absolute beauty.
Always a pleasure to see her.

I feel sad about the killings worldwide.
I feel useless, unable to change the pattern of things.

Your lovely Lucy looks so beautiful in sunshine, no wonder she doesn't like rain.
Yes, there are terrible things happening these days.
That's why it really is important that everyone vote in this election. If there's any possibility of influencing things more positively, each and everyone needs to vote. Please.

Always love seeing Lucy. She is such a well-loved doggy, and she has a nice big fan club. Love the quote. Oh how I wish the times we are living in would be more like my dreams and less like my nightmares. Sigh.

So much hatred for innocent people; I'll never understand. It hurts.
Lucy is a lovely floofy lady. Have a nice weekend.

Lucy always makes me smile and that is a great gift with today's headlines. When did we become so angry and full of hate or has it always been there only now folks feel they have a licence to display thanks to our leader?
We have a chance to be heard November 6th.

It's always so lovely seeing Lucy, and this is a lovely photograph.

The killings worldwide seem to be on the increase, it is just so sad.
Life is to be cherished not destroyed.

All the best Jan

I so love how the fur of Goldens blow in the breeze. Elegant and graceful. Lucy looks quite happy there. Ours in only 5 years old, so still full of energy, which has proved to be a challenge living in an apartment.

The shooting at the synagogue breaks my heart. Those sweet brothers. The couple that was married there 60 years ago. Sometimes it is just all too much. But then, there are the Muslims who have raised a million dollars for the families of the victims. Good people abound and give me hope.

Hoping for a good stomping this coming Tuesday. At least in the Congress. Kick the low lifes OUT.

I'm reminded of the words of Mr. Rogers, who, when trying to calm frightened children during disasters said, "Look for the helpers." Even though there are so many hateful, racist, bigoted, and terrible people coming out from hiding and creating real harm, there are always multitudes of kind helpers instantly undoing their evil in any way they can.

We must hope and work toward a Tangible Rebuke of this administration's approval of this new America by getting out the vote and voting against anyone who supports him. Send a Message. No More Hate.

Let’s hope voters turn out to cast a ballot that moves toward preserving our democracy.

Lucy looks lovely sitting in the sun and always look forward to seeing her. The senseless killings in PA and then this past week at a FL yoga studio are worrisome because there are such hateful people living among us in different states. Yes, we will certainly be exercising our rights and getting out to vote this week.
