LIFE'S BETTER IN THE MOUNTAINS

The Sun is Out

The sun is shining and we are finally drying out.  It's warmer than normal, but we won't complain.  Yet.  The birds are out and life is good.

American author and poet Maya Angelou once said something that sticks with me in troubled times.  She said:

"A bird doesn't sing because it has an answer, it sings because it has a song."

So in these troubled times, I'm going to sing more even though I have no answers.  Matter of fact, I'm going to sing even though I don't always have a song.  It surely can't hurt.  So after you have written lots of letters, put your iPod on the Bose and sing your heart out.

Fabulous! We had rain every day for more than two weeks, though nothing like what y'all had. This week has turned mostly clear and very hot. Still, not complaining...much. LOVE red-bellied woodpecker youngsters! So cute. Great fun seeing your birdies out and about.

Wonderful bird photos. Nice to hear your weather is drying out. I like the Maya quote. She is one of my favorite writers/poets.

So glad you've gotten some sun!

My boss is on a business trip & I've been working on a project that only requires half of my brain so I've been listening to music. And I came this || close to singing out loud but decided that I didn't want people banging on the door to find out what was wrong - ha! I'll just confine that behavior to the car...

Marvelous advice. Making a joyful noise to drown out the din.

Lovely quote! I also like the one from Emily Dickinson--Hope is the thing with feathers that perches in the soul - and sings the tunes without the words - and never stops at all.

I love all your bird pictures, great shots. We have a pair of Pileated Woodpeckers hanging around with their young. Have been trying to get pictures but they bounce around n the tree and then they are gone so fast.

I like your blog.
