LIFE'S BETTER IN THE MOUNTAINS

Fridays Are Golden

It is not uncommon to look up at the high mountains early mornings in early April and see ice on the mountaintops.  It is quite another to look out your own backyard and see ice on April 4.  Not just in the early morning, but at 3:00 in the afternoon!!!  Our normal high for the date should be in the mid-60s.  Yesterday our high was 32.  Mist, clouds, gray and ice.

(You may need to click to see the ice clearly)
Where is spring?

The calendar says it's here.

Where are you going Ellie?
Thought I would check the other side of the house to see if it's better there.

Look at that, would you?  Where is my sunbeam?

Absent my sunbeam, I'll just settle on soft golden Ellie.

The only thing we can do about the weather is to wait for a change.  It is what it is.  But I can tell you I am ready for spring weather to accompany the calendar.

Today's quotes are from Marcus Aurelius:

"You have power over your mind---not outside events.  Realize this, and you will find strength."

"Very little is needed to make a happy life; it is all within yourself, in your way of thinking."

HAVE A SAFE AND WONDERFUL WEEKEND, EVERYONE!!!

We're finally having a glorious spring day here. I'm thinking of telling my boss that I'm sick & need to go home early :)

Ellie IS a glorious sunbeam :-) We've been well below freezing every night up here, but tolerable during the day, as we have been mostly clear this week. Still, the swamp marigolds haven't bloomed, which is must unsettling. We do have a few daffodils braving the cold, trying to bloom. Also, both of us have started sneezing, so spring must be nigh.

There was ice near us -- maybe even at the top of our mountain but where we are there was only rain, thank goodness! I think that the fact of Easter being so early this year makes us all the more impatient for spring weather.

You are having a Rocky Mountain spring! April is our second highest month in terms of snow fall. It is frustrating to all of us who are yearning for spring but we all know how much we need it for the Earth to stay healthy.

I hope that your normal spring weather arrives soon, before the Hummingbirds!

How nice to have a 4 legged sunbeam handy to curl up with.
Hope Spring finally makes it to your place.

Finally it started to melt here. And I can live by the great Roman Emperors sage wisdom...:)

We can learn a lot from dogs, who find a way to make do and be happy no matter the weather!
We've finally warmed up around here, but I expect we'll have another cold snap or two in the next month.

I've been wondering where spring is too, but it seems to have finally gotten here, and I hope it shows up in your direction too!

The very last quote is one that is so true, but hard to remember when chaos is everywhere!

Hope you're enjoying your weekend!
