Hail Done Broke Loose

One of my favorite movies is "Guess Who's Coming to Dinner?"  And one of my favorite lines in the movie is that of the maid Tillie who says, "All Hell done broke loose."  Well, the hail broke loose around here last week.  Like most of the country our weather has waxed and waned above normal and much below normal.  I do not recall making the switch from air conditioning to heat so many times in one short week.

On Thursday, after a few hours of rain, the hail started.  Small pebbles of hail bouncing all over the yard like popcorn in a popper.  And just as suddenly, the hail stopped and the sun came out!  Amazing how quickly it turned.

Icy hail in the sunshine

Fun if you weren't out

The deck was covered with little pebbles

The hail melted and disappeared in no time at all and we enjoyed sunshine the rest of the day.

Not everyone across the country has been so lucky.  Our thoughts go out to those in the Midwest who are dealing with the severe flooding.

Totally agree with you on the daily switches from A/C to heat. Still have a closet full of all weather clothing.
Glad the hail was small and didn't damage anything. It was 35 this AM and is due to hit the mid 70's this afternoon. Crazy.

We've had some weirdly quick weather changes here, too.
Guess who's coming to dinner is one of my favs, too.

I had switched our bedding to the light summer stuff & then I had to put the electric blanket back on. Ugh.

Crazy hot and cold here too, but dry as a bone. It's going to be a long hot fiery summer if we don't get a few storms between now and then.

Hi there, WE had snow-ice last week and then nice weather. Today started out nice but now we have snow covering the ground-been coming down since 10:00 am. We head to warm sunshine of Ca. tomorrow-yippe. I am so ready for spring weather. I know we need the moisture but it is almost April.
Glad the sun came out for y ou.
Hugs, Noreen

Yikes. Nature can indeed be fickle. Perhaps "she" is repaying us for our misuse.

Oh my goodness! Hell yeah, that's a lot of hail!

I enjoyed that movie, too. Must look to see what year it was made.

We've had the same kind of weather minus the hail--It really has been a crazy spring.

I loved the movie--I recall that Spencer Tracy died very soon after they were done filming.

Oh to me that is a beautiful scene, and a wonderful experience. I only experienced hail once in Australia, and we opened our umbrellas because they are almost 2 inches in diameter. We don't experience hail in the tropics.

That's one of my favorite movies too! I've been caught out in hail like that, and I had to hide under the boughs of a pine tree. Not fun. I'm glad that you were inside!

Ouch!

We had torrential rains, but none of that hail.

To think we got none of this...glad of that. Hail does such damage.
