LIFE'S BETTER IN THE MOUNTAINS

Fridays are Golden

We have had much warmer than normal temperatures with high humidity.  So what do the Golden Girls do when it's so hot?  As little as possible.  We get them up earlier so they can get a good walk before it warms up so much.  The rest of the day they are slugs.

Lucy chooses the hardwood floor rather than a bed.

Ellie collapses between a chair and table.

It's nearly time for dinner so they stay very close to the man who will feed them.  They snooze there.  The man in the chair?  He's snoozing along with the girls.

This is Memorial Day weekend here in the U.S.  Let's all keep in mind those who have fought for us, especially the ones who gave their lives.

HAVE A WONDERFUL WEEKEND EVERYONE!

A cool floor on a warm day is a blessing, indeed. Have a lovely weekend. We will do the same, even as we pause to remember those who have given "the last full measure of devotion."

Our golden prefers the cool hardwood floors to her bed, even in cooler weather. In the summer, she's been known to lay on/near the air conditioner vent. ;-)

I love pictures of puppy butts :) Dogs are all about the sprawl - it's very entertaining. Have a great weekend!

Temperatures have been well above average in SE UK. We also have not had any spring rain....only the odd shower. The gardens are dry......I do not like climate change, I wish the rain would come.

The girls are wise......

My dog is not as smart--she gets all hot while she runs around barking at snakes and other dogs. The weather has been unusually warm--more like July than May. Have a nice weekend too.

I cannot imagine "hot" yet. It's still snowing around here!

Smart girls - go for the hardwood floors when it's hot and hang out close to the man who feeds them for several hours prior to the appointed time (I'm just guessing about that last part).

Have a great weekend!

I think the girls have the right idea as to the best way to spend a hot, humid day.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

Have a great weekend -- all the rain has cooled things off considerably over here -- ahhh!

It is so hot here in the deep south (90's already) already that I feel just like the dogs...up early if I need to work in the yard or cut grass...relax in the AC for the heat of the day!

I love all things North Carolina! My cousin lives in Brevard and I have property in NC, though I rarely get to see it. Hope you don't mind if I follow along!

Good plan. Get up early. Take care of the essentials. Nap in the afternoon. :)

HELLO!!! Our crew is also slowing down a bit--My dog walker mentioned that a couple of them wouldn't go out midday--I told her to stand outside with a treat and they'd come outside--they did but went right back in...come to think of it, I'm doing that too!

I hope you have a wonderful weekend!!!

Sometimes I wish I could lay on the cool tiles with the boys!

Animals always seem to know best ! I can attest to the hot, muggy weather in No. Carolina and a good nap may be the best way to handle that.
Thanks for the nice comment on my blog. You live in my favorite part of the State ... the mountain area !
