Now, why did she just get up and move?
One bed Ellie particularly does not want to share is in the den. There are two identical beds next to one another and Lucy often tries to get into the one Ellie is using. Ellie has learned that if she stretches out she can find a way to take up the entire bed, with no room for Lucy. Lucy will walk to every side of the bed, trying to find a tiny place to lie. The other evening, Lucy finally decided that if Ellie wouldn't make room for her in the bed, she would lie outside and use Ellie for a pillow.
Hey, she can't fool me. I know she wants me to be here.
Ellie decided to give up the bed and find another place to rest. Lucy settled in the bed all by herself, curling up on one half of the bed.
I told her there was room for both of us. Look. I'm not even taking up half the bed.
Lucy fell asleep, curled up like a kitten. Contrary to all appearances, this is a three-year-old dog, not a puppy! Ellie slept stretched out on the floor.
Yet another Friday, and it is September already. I hope you have a wonderful weekend and get lots of rest and sleep. Wherever your plans, stay happy and safe.

Looks like Ellie and Lucy got a jump on the res and sleep! You have a good one too.
Your Retrievers are beautiful! I presently have 4 dogs, with no plans for more. But there will come a time when I will want another dog. I am leaning toward a Golden Retriever, I've heard they are exceptional dogs.
I look forward to the golden girls' report on Fridays. They are beautiful.
Love seeing the differences in their personalities. Now my D is so hot, I can only cuddle up for a short time before I retreat to the farthest edge of the bed to stretch out and keep cool! I'm sure that's how Lucy feels!
Awwww... Lucy is so adorable, who wouldn't want to snuggle up with her? I would be hard pressed not to curl up in the other half of that bed...
I do look forward to your golden Fridays. I find the difference between the behavior of your golden girls most fascinating. Especially that Ellie wants her space!
Carolyn: The Golden Girls look quite happy.
They are so much like kids, aren't they? :c) Sweet photos.
Lucy wants more of Ellies love - cute!
Love your "Golden Girls." Isn't it funny how dogs have such different personalities, likes/dislikes, etc? One of the many reasons I am fascinated by dogs.

Thanks, everyone. Yes, our two dogs are very different. And we love both of them. Lucy is the one with the sense of humor. She watches intently if I am working on something as if to say, "Now, if I just had those opposable thumbs..."
