So my thoughts are scattered, and in keeping with scattered bits and pieces of our lives, I will share a couple of photographs that otherwise might not "fit."
This is our Democratic Headquarters for Transylvania County. The Headquarters is located next door to "El Burro Loco." I'm not certain who leased the property first, but found I it rather amusing.
The other photograph I found amusing is one of our birdfeeders. A group of goldfinches were clustered around. The only other bird is a lone titmouse who seems to feel right at home.

What a funny observation!
Ha ha! I laughed out loud about the Crazy Donkey next to the Dem HQ. Too funny!
Our gas shot up too (go figure, we have a country with plenty of gas!) We had to fill up yesterday. I've figured it out in U.S. gallons:
Regular: $5.60 / gallon
Premium (which is what we use): $6.02 / gallon
Ouch!
Beautiful little birds...i have never seen a goldfinch...maybe next visit to the mountains!
I know Carolyn, it's freaky to see so many stations completely out of gas to sell. I pumped my 10 gallon ration yesterday. Thankfully, that's about all I needed.
I guess there are benefits to living beside a big city - we don't seem to have any shortages - and amazingly, when I filled my car yesterday, the price was the same that it was last week. Still $76.00 for a tank of gas hurts!
Same here. No big jumps. There may be some advantage to living in the sticks.
wayfaring - Thanks for dropping by. Yes, a woman watched me take the photo and said, "I'm glad someone else sees the humor in that."
dog-geek - Glad you got a laugh.
Cicero - Amazing that areas not receiving their gas from the Texas pipeline are also seeing such high prices.
Pat - They winter here, but don't have the bright color.
Jayne - Thankfully we don't need much ourselves. It's just the idea of not being able to get some if we need it.
Helen - Definitely easier near the big cities. We are so far off the beaten track, none of the suppliers want to bother coming here when they can sell out all along the Interstates.
troutbirder - hooray for the sticks
