LIFE'S BETTER IN THE MOUNTAINS

We Love Lucy

Another week has gone by.  Another week in which we humans are perplexed and saddened by the statements and actions of our leaders.  Another week in which we vow again to follow the wisdom of our dogs.  And fail yet again.

Even our trouble-free Lucy looks a bit down.
"No, Mom.  I'm just adjusting my pillows
Ready to relax and snooze again"

Our little Violet is thriving.  Eating well and gaining weight. Her parents and grandparents are over the moon with delight.  I got a text from a good friend after some particularly onerous happening this week.  She said, "My sincere apologies to Violet since she will inherit a total cluster-f--k."  I must admit that having an infant grandchild makes me even more fearful of our planet's future.

Once again, there are several quotes for today:

From Marcus Aurelius:
"That which is not good for the beehive is not good for the bees."

And an anonymous one:
"Everything happens for a reason but sometimes that reason is that you are stupid and make bad decisions."

And from Isaac Asimov:
"No sensible decision can be made any longer without taking into account not only the world as it is, but the world as it will be."

HAVE A MOST WONDERFUL WEEKEND,  EVERYONE!

The babies are a great reason to remain positive and RESIST!

Your quotes are uplifting. Thanks for something that's beautiful to think about...as well as dogs, grandkids, and nature's beauty.

These are such interesting, troubling times. We carry on as best we can and hope that by the time our grandchildren are adults, we have figured out how save the planet and our sanity.

Hopefully long before Violet is even in preschool, we will have corrected this aberration. We just need to keep pestering those who make our laws.

I have not cussed so much at my radio and TV as I did this week in a long time. Let's hope that the decision made this week won't actually affect the planet that much, since other entities like states, cities, and companies seem to be stepping up to the challenge. I think that our country's leadership in the world is in grave danger.

I'm thrilled that Violet is thriving! I bet that all of your family is over the moon with happiness about her!

Is "anonymous" you? ... I thought that all three quotes were great!

I feel as if KB Bear is channelling me!

I was particularly proud of the mayor of Pittsburgh, who made it a point to state that his city--despite the mention in the crazy one's speech--would be affirming its commitment to climate change and preserving the environment, no matter what.

What joy you must feel anew each day, knowing that Violet is in your life! I am happy for you.

The beehive is being despoiled and this little bee will keep stinging with words to add my voice to the persist in resisting movement.

Thanks for your comments, everyone.

Vicki - Well said

Barbara - Yes, we need to focus on the things that bring us joy.

Robin - Carry on is what we try to do as well.

Patti - Amen to that

KB - I've used a lot of those words myself. Most of all when I hear some of the stupid voices shouting that the Paris Accord was somehow dictated to us. WE CHOSE WHAT WE WANTED TO CONTRIBUTE. The anonymous quote was not by me but it certainly reflects my opinion.

Nance - Yes,kudos to the mayor of Pittsburgh. Little Violet does indeed bring us joy.

Joared - Very nicely said.

I'm late as usual. So happy that Violet is thriving! But sad that it seems like her world is going to covfefe...
