LIFE'S BETTER IN THE MOUNTAINS

We Love Lucy

This has been a rather chilly week for us and we have totally enjoyed the beauty and warmth of our new fireplace.  Lucy loves it as well, especially the warmth of the hearth.  Most evenings she can be found stretched out near the hearth.

Sometimes she stretches out full length

Sometimes she pulls her paws in

Hanukkah begins for our Jewish friends on Tuesday.  And for all of us winter begins next Sunday.  The longest night of the year and then the days will lengthen.  Yes, in milliseconds for a while but the idea that the light is increasing is what we focus on.  In this hectic season, try to relax and enjoy yourselves and your family and friends.  Don't turn everything into a problem.

Our quote for the week comes from the Dalai Lama:

"Our prime purpose in this life is to help others.
And if you can't help them, at least don't hurt them."

HAVE A SAFE AND WONDERFUL WEEKEND, EVERYONE

It has been a little warmer here than just a few weeks ago. Nice reprieve for the cold. I don't handle it nearly as well as I used to. Stay warm!

I just love your fireplace and smart Lucy has claimed her spot. Fire is my weakness. Campfires or fireplaces cause me to zone out.

Lucy looks so cozy in front on the hearth. She must love that you did that all for her! I love winter solstice and the promise of the sun's return.

I do so love to come here and see Lucy.....it is very much part of my life. A strange thing to say perhaps but my love of dogs exceeds the 'norm'

I am glad you are all enjoying the warmth of your new fire......this old house could do with some at the moment :)

Beautiful quote.........we all stress way to much over Christmas.
It is only one day and if we are with family surely if things go wrong it doesn't really matter.

I can imagine how cozy your new fireplace must make the house feel - and I'm glad Lucy is enjoying toasty paws!

Love the photo of Lucy by the fire.
We have a gas fireplace--and this year our dog has developed a sudden fear of it. When we turn it on, she paces until we turn it off. Can't figure out why this sudden phobia.

One of my favorite things to tell myself is "Life is not a race"... so that I remember to slow down and enjoy it.

The fire must be cozy and wonderful. I'm glad that Lucy enjoys it!
