In the Eyes of the Beholder

Not many people in our community put out Christmas displays.  A few tasteful red bows or candy canes, or some flags announcing the season.  But not much else.

There is, however, one house that goes all out for Christmas.  I love to drive past it both in daylight and dark.  None of those inflatables for them.

How often do you see a gecko bearing gifts?

And ever laughing Elmo

Reindeer pig, anyone?

They shine brightly at night.

I must admit that I have a dislike for the inflatables, but I love to see outdoor decorations.  Some are elaborate and some are simple.  As far as I'm concerned, none are tacky.  (Although one nativity display with Rudolph sticking his head in the manger came mighty close.)  It's all in the eyes of the beholder.

Those are wonderful Christmas decorations. I love seeing creativity like this for the season.

Merry Christmas!

Aww, those are really cute. You make me realize that my neighborhood (including my house) is absolutely barren. Don't know why. Guess I need to go to town tonight to see the displays.

we go all out here in Sacramento. don't know why or when it started, but this town can be seen from space I'm sure. We take quite a few walks and drives to take it all in.

It's all great fun, and I love what your neighbors have done! It's a gift for every passer by.

I love the lights and decorations! Anything to chase the darkness away. This little gecko of mine, I'm gonna let it shine...

Belated Christmas greetings a bit belatedly and hope that despite the sadness this season, there was also contentment, memories and love abounding. I also enjoy decorations, especially lights, but not inflatables. We do miss the displays in our native NJ as where we live in VA there are not so many. Wishing you and yours a very good and happy new year ahead.

The gecko and reindeer pig are too cute. I loathe the inflatables....and I just realized that I haven't seen many this year. Perhaps people are coming to their senses.
I hope your Christmas was just lovely....I know it was NOT tacky at all.

Instead of tacky, I tell myself 'Exuberant!'
