A Day of Remembering

The tree survived.
And so does our spirit.

Today we turn our thoughts to a tragic day in American history.  No one could have predicted the years of strategic errors and loss of life that would follow this day.

Sorry, I deleted my comment. I completely agree with your sentiments in this post. Actually it's the most succinct perspective I've seen.

Yes, we remember 9/11 and pray for the families who lost loved ones.

A tree symbolizes so many things for me, life, roots, family, etc. The fact that it is alive and looks to be thriving, speaks volumes.

The tree is a wonderful symbol to focus on.

It seems that our country may never be the same again, both due to the tragic event and the insanity in Washington afterwards (and continuing to this day).

That act effected a nation. Not only the families of those taken so cruelly but all of us who had to watch helplessly.
