Fridays Are Golden

DogTV is a new channel available from Direct TV.  A free trial is available to subscribers.  The purpose of the channel is to amuse dogs and the programs vary to introduce dogs to sounds of children playing, street traffic, babies crying, and all sorts of other life sounds.  There is also a program called "Morning Relaxation."  I had it on the other day for the soothing background music.  And really cute pictures of sleeping dogs.

Ah, so relaxing!

In truth, our dogs don't watch much television.  Lucy watches dog shows briefly and is occasionally attracted to a program for a few minutes.  Ellie does not seem to notice the television at all.  And our Golden Girls definitely do not need a program to help them relax.  After a morning walk, breakfast, and a wrestling match, they zone out for most of the morning.  So thank you for the free preview, Direct TV.  But I don't think we will subscribe to this channel.

August is upon us bringing typical weather and continued evening thunderstorms.  We are under a flash flood warning most days every week.  Last weekend we had 48 hours without rain...the first time that happened in 23 days!

It is appropriate as we approach the anniversary of the March on Washington that we quote Martin Luther King, Jr. this week.  This quote is especially meaningful in today's political climate.

"Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter."

HAVE A MOST WONDERFUL AND SAFE WEEKEND, EVERYONE!!!

Hi there, We are having the same weird weather! This morning it felt like Fall and although I like autumn, I am not ready for it. I might have to try Dog T.V. just for kicks. Hope you have a great weekend.

Happy Friday! I am at work, but I think I could snooze just like your girls :)

The dog tv cracks me up. What's next? Cat radio?
Your girls certainly know how to chill out.
We've had bouts of daily rain all summer....I'm soggy and tired of it.

I saw a segment on the news about DOG TV and thought it was a cute idea. My dog watches Animal Planet channel if he hears barking, but otherwise he shows little interest in TV. They say it works to keep dogs calm in kennels. It's worth a try anyway.

One of my granddogs used to love the Dog Whisperer and I think a couple of them might really go for this.

Have a great weekend and give those girls a belly rub from me.

I put that channel on when I was giving Mighty diversion therapy. He ignored it but I almost went to sleep.
Can't see where it will be a success.

from your past "Fridays" I don't think your girls need much of a push to take a snooze ! I hope your area has dried up from all the heavy rains.

Mingus is disgusted by TV and Computer. Our house is quiet and that is the way he likes it.

I agree with Lucy and Ellie in not watching TV...very smart idea to lie down for a nap instead. We don't even subscribe to any TV service for humans in our home and have no regrets.

We tuned into Dog TV for about two minutes the other evening. I don't think it's going to be a success. I don't know very many dogs that watch TV.

We've had a week of cooler temps here. Such a welcomed respite from the month-long scorcher. It felt a little like fall. I loved it!

Seriously. I'm astonished. Baron never watched TV either UNLESS he heard a dog barking or a wolf howling... the he joined in. :)
