LIFE'S BETTER IN THE MOUNTAINS

Fridays Are Back...And Golden

It seems that Blogger finally fixed the problem with uploads.  At least for now.  I had not exceeded their "free" limit, but understand that I would have had no problem paying five bucks to them.  But only if I could send cash with no identifying information.  And apparently that is not possible.

I hope all of you had a most excellent holiday season.  We certainly did.  The girls always love extra hands available to pet them.

Ellie opens a present while Lucy observes.
For some reason Ellie has been designated to open everything.

It's a wonderful ball that makes all sorts of animal sounds.
Ellie just loved it and carried it around carefully.

Lucy got a ball that lights up with motion.

They took the toys to one of their beds.  Ellie guards her ball while looking at the light from Lucy's.

Ellie kept her ball between her paws, moving it whenever it stopped making noise.
Lucy nudged hers with her nose to make it blink over and over.

These balls will require supervision because of their small size, but we will definitely give them play opportunities.  Surprisingly, Lucy has not picked up the talking ball although Ellie tried the blinking one.

Here we are beginning another year.  I remember thinking as a child that I would be far too old to enjoy the year 2000.  I'm so glad I was wrong.

The Friday quote is from Abraham Lincoln:
"Always bear in mind that your own resolution to succeed is more important than any other."

HAVE A SAFE AND WONDERFUL WEEKEND!!!
LAUGH MORE!

Yay! So nice to get a Golden fix :)

I felt the same way about 2000 - I thought 36 sounded ANCIENT. And now here I am staring down 50 :)

Happy Friday to you! This morning when I started to write my title on my post, I wanted to write "Friday's are golden"-because I love seeing your girls. I'm glad blogger is better with your photo issue(mine too)but now I can't get into blogger manager to delete some blogs I've followed that have stopped blogging. I've tried for two months now and so hesitant to follow new bloggers because I'd be up to 300 easy. Have a great weekend.

You're back! I'm thrilled to have a golden Friday again. The girls are glowing, as usual.

Funny, balls that made funny noises scared K for her entire life so she wouldn't have ever gone near Ellie's ball. But, she loved those ones that light up. What fun!

'Tis the season for resolutions... and your quote is so right on.

They are so funny about their toys! We once got Mingus a ball (when D was still alive) that blinked and sent off sirens but Mingus because we thought Mingus would love it. He did not like it and we had to give it to his half sister who just loved it. Go figure.

Thanks, everyone. It is good to be back.

Donna - The balls were gifts from my son and his wife. I'll have to ask them where they came from.

KB - Lucy is not at all interested in the animal noises but she doesn't seem afraid of it. Both the dogs were fascinated with their ability to make the balls light up or make noise. They figured it out quickly and would let them so silent or dark so they could move them to activate them again. I love watching them figure out something like that.
