And so the meal is planned and once again we get ready for Thanksgiving Day. It is one of my favorite holidays. When I was working, it gave me a long weekend. That alone was reason to give thanks.
Every year we bring out our tacky turkey to sit upon his throne.
(It's in the eye of the beholder.)
And the First Lady of Pie carries her pie
with the turkey under her arm.
As Cicero said:
"A thankful heart is not only the greatest virtue, but the parent of all our other virtues."
So let us all make our hearts thankful for all the blessings we enjoy.
HAVE A SAFE AND WONDERFUL THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!!!

I love your turkey!!
Ellie and Lucy I hope you get a fair share of turkey on Thursday. I will certainly be doing my share of begging.
OK smelly collards. Mom loves the smell but then she grew up smelling them. However, she has been told if you boil a pot of vinegar water while cooking the collards it helps with the smell.

Like your Cicero quote -- isn't retirement grand -- no more "time off" just at holidays. Enjoy your holiday -- barbara
Happy Thanksgiving!
Happy Thanksgiving to you!
Happy Thanksgiving!
Just read today that the turkeys are thankful too ------for every vegetarian!! Have a happy week-end!
Same to you, my dear! I love Thanksgiving, too, and have my stuffed turkeys sitting on the fireplace mantel (they're smaller than yours...)
I know you will enjoy the day. Are the girls picking up on the excitement?
Great decorations. Much to give thanks for.
