LIFE'S BETTER IN THE MOUNTAINS

Fridays are Golden

This has been a quiet week for us.  The weather has been humid but tolerable.  We haven't taken the Golden Girls anywhere this week.  My husband has a new SUV and we don't yet have the seat protectors.  No way are we going to have scratches on the leather.  My husband has had lots of fun learning how to work all the commands and get familiar with the bells and whistles.

So while we have been on long walks in the neighborhood, the girls have pretty much been hanging around the house.

Ellie catches a few winks.

Lucy conks out completely.  The Princess has two speeds...zoom and zzzzzz.

Ellie has a thought but she doesn't share it.

Lucy's thoughts are so deep she has to close her eyes.

So here we are kicking off the start of summer with Memorial Day weekend.  Whatever you are doing, I hope you are safe and happy.

Today's quote is from Jane Goodall who reminds us:

What you do makes a difference, and you have to decide what difference you want to make.

HAVE A WONDERFUL WEEKEND, EVERYONE!!
FILL IT WITH THINGS YOU LIKE TO DO.

I think Ellie is wondering why the heck she hasn't had a ride in the new SUV yet...she looks somewhat dejected.

A long ride to the coast, to walk around Pt. Reyes tomorrow, that'll be the highlight of my weekend.

Enjoy yours!

Hi there, Loved hearing how you are starting your weekend; the girls look very content to stay inside and contemplate their eyelids. Love the quote. We wouldn't mind the weather if it was humid but it is downright cold here. Have a joy filled weekend.

I agree with Lucy. If you have no place to zoom off to, a snooze is just fine.
Have a great weekend.

I love the Goodall quote.
It must be wonderful to be a dog in your home ... you can tell how secure they are feeling.

Sweet, peaceful Golden girls you have. Their fur is so soft and a beautiful golden color. They must love mountains. When I lived in Palm Springs, California they had a blind dog training school and they used to bring the beautiful Golden Retrievers on the Sun Tran bus to to practice their guiding skills. Years ago in the 1970's I attended a Jane Goodall college presentation on her experiences with her gorillas. She mimicked vith her voice exactly the sounds of the gorillas. Have a wonderful Memorial day weekend, mountain dwellers.

Goodness...I LOVE that quote so much.
Lo and I heard one the other day that we both enjoyed: "What ever you do in life, do it well" So simple, and so easy.
Love seeing your girls....I hope they get to 'ride' in the car soon.
I got a new car in January...it required a 2 hour tutorial going over the interior dash. I still don't' know it all. :0

Thanks for your comments, everyone.

Rudee, Tara - The covers have arrived. The girls have begun to recognize the "strange" vehicle and decided it can stay.

Suz - Great quote. I understand about the tutorial. This vehicle has such a complex display. And you can use voice commands, even.

Ach, Ellie is very wise, keeping those thoughts to herself ... my Mingus on the otherhead ... likes to make them known!

I'm sure the girls will be ecstatic when those covers arrive and they can go on a REAL adventure again. Mingus likes REAL adventures himself.
