LIFE'S BETTER IN THE MOUNTAINS

Rainy Monday

Don't you just hate it when you have lots of errands to do and it is pouring rain?  So you fortify yourself with a couple of cups of coffee and go out to run errands in the rain?

You know that sick feeling when you look at your car in the garage and a tire looks flat?
And the tires are less than six months old?

So you walk to the rear of the car thinking it might be just an illusion?
But it's not...and the tire is flat as a pancake?

And don't you just hate it when your mountain town is too small to have AAA service located in town?  So the nearest service provider is in a neighboring county?  So it's going to be a long wait?

And your husband asks you what you ran over, subtly insinuating it must be your fault?  And he keeps reminding you that he has never had a flat tire?

DON'T YOU JUST HATE THAT???

YEAH, ME TOO!

There were reasons why the Appalachian pioneers were so self-sufficient. We keep a compressor AND a generator in the barn. We learned the hard way this past fall that you can't even count on AAA in the cities, let alone out here in paradise. We didn't bother to renew when it came up last month. Jim

Yes! I do hate that.

However, I think you should read more into this...the Universe doesn't want you traveling in the rain today. Go in and have more coffee.

That's no way to start the day! I would stay home and bake something instead. Try again tomorrow. And, maybe hubby can get that tire fixed in the meantime!

Oh do I hate it....

I have to say though I couldn't stop laughing, I can so see that situation and have been there myself.

Send lot of understanding your way......

Imply it was your fault? Gotta be kidding. Kind of like living here 30 years and never hit a deer, but in the last 4 years, we've hit 5 deer with 5 different cars.

I've had two recent slow leaks in tires - obviously I ran over something - but Mike hasn't had any issues with HIS tires. Do I drive on broken glass? Sheesh.

We do keep an air pump in the car for me - plugs into the cigarette lighter. And I even know how to use it!

Ouch. It's a bummer all right. But the blame game is what really hurts.

Yup! Been there, done that. Not much humor in finding a flat anytime.

Look at it this way: much better to discover this in the comfort of your own garage than out on the road running errands. Then the long wait would REALLY suck!

Always looking for the silver lining, my friend.

Yup--hate it.
My flat tire on the new car was not so much a flat as a nail firmly embedded that meant we had to buy new tires. And with the delicate balance it meant buying TWO new tires.

I think Rudee has the right idea. It is a sign, read it and stay out of the nasty weather. Then you will have plenty of time to wait for AAA.

About that time I think a nice cup of tea, a fire in the fireplace and a good book is definitely called for.

Hahaahah, think it is time to get an electric air compressor for your tires. Sometimes with great temperature changes the air in the tires goes low. Your fault indeed... silly man.

"That" happens to me far more often with my bike than my vehicle. But, I hate it just like you do!!!!

At least you didn't have to go out in the rain... or did you?

I rarely have to get out, but if that happened, I'd crawl back in bed and cancel the day!

I am a strange duck, when I drove I looked at the tires everyday and checked them with an air gauge every time I got fuel!!! Really among other things!!!! Strange for a female, yes?? My first husband and I ran gas stations for 20 years.
Zoie is having the best time!! But tomorrow she will not be so happy~~ she is getting her spaying done. Poor baby!!
