What's this? He forgot to unwrap it. I need help.
Would you give us a little help here, Dad?
It's a new chew. Lucy takes her chew and goes right to her bed to enjoy it. The beds have their names on them and they seem to know which is which most of the time. My husband thinks it's because Lucy is so smart. I think it's because the "Lucy" bed is somehow a bit more comfortable. The Princess deserves the best.
Ellie takes a break from her chew, holding it between her paws.
These hard chews are made with Yak milk. The girls just love them. A bit pricey, but fine for an occasional treat.
Jane Austen said, "What dreadful hot weather we have. It keeps me in a continual state of inelegance."
The weather is not the only thing that keeps me from being elegant, but it certainly does contribute. Like most residents of the south-eastern United States, we are enduring markedly high temperatures. Unlike our typical summer weather, this weather keeps the temperatures up even at night. Here's hoping we all get a respite soon.
HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND, EVERYONE!!!

The girls are great with their smiley faces :)
I've gotten so used to hearing the air conditioner run all night I wonder if I'll be able to sleep without it (if it ever cools off that is!).
My dogs love those Himalayan chews, too. I got some for P when he was a puppy and they were perfect for him, but as he grew, he was able to chew them up too quickly to make them very cost effective.
Try to keep cool! I could deal with this heat if it weren't so darn humid - definitely not good running weather these days!
I never heard of the Himilayan chews, will have to check them out for my sister...she has two huskies. I don't give my three chewie treats anymore. Three dogs, three personalities. Oldest dog just lets it lay in front of her, guarding it, daring the other two to try and get it. Middle dog wants to hid his ---walks all over the house looking for place to secure it...and if you look at it, he has to move it. Third dog eats his as quickly as possible, throwing it up later (yes, thanks) and then goes looking for the other two.
Inelegance indeed. whew!
We keep hoping for a break from the heat - the boys haven't been for a walk in weeks!
We will have to try those chews - where do you find them?
Sam
I love the Austen quote and shall use it at the first opportunity.
As always the golden girls bring a smile to my face. I do hope they enjoyed their chews.
In contrast, we are experiencing temperatures below the 'norm' and a chilly north wind. Feels more like autumn :)
Hope cooler weather comes your way very soon. Enjoy your weekend..
Happy Friday, As always your girls make me smile. WE are having hot weather too and I keep the a/c on in the afternoons and evenings.
Have a wonderful weekend.

Stay cool!
Have a wonderful weekend.
The heat IS more than a bit unbearable and I hate to sweat, which has been totally unavoidable. One certainly doesn't dare forget deodorant, does one?
Oh I love the quote and quite frankly this Southern gal doesn't glow in this heat she SWEATS profusely so she stays inside.
I was surprised to hear how hot it is in the NC mtns.
There is nothing sweeter than a Golden Smile and your two have million dollar smiles.
Madi and Mom
It is still hot and dry out my way also.
Those dogs are so beautiful and well mannered. Do they have fights over who's chew is whos?
Hope you have a wonderful weekend, try to stay cool.
Marilyn
Love your doggie stories!! And it too is hot here!! Too hot for me, to be honest!
Have a great weekend....and stay cool!

The girls certainly like their treat. We're 'enjoying' the same type of weather on this side of the mountains as well. We've got the air-conditioner running, which is something we rarely do.
I hope you have a great weekend.
I am trying my hardest to send some of our perfect weather your way. Our Northern Utah Mountains are so lovely right now.
Cool evenings, warm days. So check out the western sky tonight and you will all see some Northern Utah trying to make its way to you.
Love
Bert
Mongus loves his chews but I have never seen those Himalayan one's.
I do feel for you in that heat. Hopefully you'll get a respite soon.
We are a little better off up here on the ridges, but still way too hot for our taste.
Love the attention they are giving to treat time.
What a sweet treat! I think your girls deserve the very best of everything...they are so well behaved.
The heat...ours seems just as bad as it is every year; I will never be a summer person!
Your girls always bring a smile to me face. They are gorgeous dogs!
Can't believe all the heat you're having down your way. I wish I had worn my winter jammies last night - it was 8/46 when I got up this morning! And this at the end of July! I'm grateful though and don't want to trade - just asking for some relief for y'all!!
Thanks for your comments, everyone.
Bug - We have also had the air on for far too long.
Dog Geek - Glad to hear from you. We had to take the chews away from them, else they would have consumed them that very day.
Janet - Thanks for dropping by. I love the descriptions of your personalities. Our two dogs are quite different from each other.
Sam - We got them from our local pet store. They are called Himalayan Dog Chew - An Everest-sized Treat.
Cheryl - Isn't it strange? There doesn't seem to be any "normal" weather anywhere. Either well above or well below normal.
Carolina nana - No, they never fight. If Lucy wants to take the one Ellie has, then Ellie lets her take it. Ellie never tries to take Lucy's away from her.
Bert - Thanks a million. I'll be on the lookout for the cool weather.
Karin - Wow! It's hard to remember temperatures like that.
