Isn't it wonderful that spring is almost here? Our birds are singing their little hearts out and making all sorts of courting movements. Soon we will glimpse some of our favorite migrating birds and then we will be thrilled to see all the fledglings. Just looking forward to it brings me joy.
A Tufted Titmouse holds a seed.
Topknotch plastered down by the rain.
A Red-bellied Woodpecker waits in queue for the suet feeder.
The White-breasted Nuthatch is already checking out the nesting boxes.
I have to comment about how much I detest changing from standard to daylight time and back again. Why can't we simply take what the sun gives us and let things change gradually? Of course, the dogs were very excited Sunday when they thought we fed them early. Next fall they will drive us crazy for an hour, thinking we forgot about feeding them.

Great pictures. We'll be back in NC May 4-9, as our son is getting his masters from ECU and also the new baby should be about 1.5 weeks old by then.
Lovely birds! Yeah, spring is coming!
I will have to look forward to your spring, Carolyn. Still much snow here.
such lovely images! spring is in the air in wisconsin! have been hearing the Sandhill Cranes!

I agree that this time changing should stop, I hate when it changes in the spring, takes me a month to get my system adjusted
Hope you have a blessed tomorrow and stay dry.

Time changing should stop for sure. Your bird photos are wonderful -- so many of them have these deep dark eyes that speak volumes. Here's to spring!
I do love those little titmice. Now if they would just site still for a second. Your must hypnotize them before you shoot? :)
Wonderful pictures, as always!
I really like your pictures of the Titmouse and Woodpecker. I also have trouble adjusting to the time changes. My internal calendar doesn't agree with the wisdom of Congress.
I love seeing the birds you have there. So beautiful. We're having a lot of early spring rain here too, and the male birds are starting to sport their very handsome breeding plumage. Ah, the colors. Like flowers!
Don't like when we play with the clocks every spring and fall. It's crazy.
Loved your little birdy friends!!
Hard to think spring is close when we had snow twice last week at the house - Sunday morning and Friday morning. Painful since the ski resort has closed and is no longer maintaining our road off the mountain.
Had to laugh at your Daylight Savings Time reference. The Herd may have enjoyed getting breakfast early, but they griped when I made them wake up and go outside an hour early.
During our recent endless string of dull days the cheerfulness of our birds lifted my spirits. They know spring is here. I agree, the time switch is unpleasant. Now we have just a few weeks on Standard Time and I wish it was the same all year.
Hi Carolyn, The rainy-day birds visited us also... Poor little things!!!!! But--finally TODAY the sun is trying to come out and it's supposed to be GORGEOUS the next few days... YEAH...
I can't stand the time change either... I have been extremely tired this week... Don't know why but it just does something to my body!!!!!! ha
Hugs,
Betsy
