LIFE'S BETTER IN THE MOUNTAINS

Fridays are Golden

So what do you do after a big Thanksgiving feast?  Well, at our house we snooze in our recliners while pretending to watch football on television.  No company; just the two of us but we had a 12-pound turkey with all the trimmings.  Fortunately my husband loves the Thanksgiving turkey and will happily eat turkey and turkey sandwiches until the bird is picked clean.

Ellie and Lucy don't even pretend to watch the ball games.  They are content to snooze all evening.

Actually, we're not so sleepy...we're depressed.  All those wonderful smells and we got only dog food.

Remember all those things you thought about yesterday as you gave thanks for your blessings?  Think of all of them again today, and tomorrow, and every other day of the year.

HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND EVERYONE!

Carolyn--always enjoy your golden girls.
I note in your prior post you honeymooned in Wmsburg, Va. We did too--Dec. 1967.

A while back you responded to my "Pay it Forward" blog (more than year ago). Well, I finally have a small gift to send to you.
Can you send me your address--my email dfwenger AT gmail DOT com.

Hope your Thanksgiving has been good.

Obviously you're not out shopping! Our big shopping day in Canada is Boxing Day - Dec. 26th. I avoid the malls now already, never mind on that day! Glad you're Golden Girls look so relaxed!

so, you didn't sneak any turkey to the girls? That's why they are depressed - you didn't have their back.

We're just lying around in recliners today as well. I'm watching documentaries. And now "What Not to Wear." Love it.

Terrific advice - and over here, we both love to eat turkey after turkey bite until it's gone too! Bravo your hubby! Love the way the girls sleep!

Seeing your sweet girls snuggled together always makes me wish I had a sister for my Lilly!

Thank you for you sweet comment and for continuing to remember my family in prayers. I appreciate it so much! Hopefully one of these days I'll get back to blogging on a regular basis.

Same here too Carolyn. We just relaxed yesterday and watched football and I gave thanks that I did not receive a shopping gene from anyone in my family. :c)

we had a small one this year as well..one by one the majority of our usual clan gatherers wimped out on us for one reason or another.....
illness, other plans, family feuds, etc...i think it was really more relaxing though, although no less work...and for a change we had enough leftovers for turkey sammiches!!!!

We go for a big walk. The boss says he needs to "walk it off". Then I see a large brown animal with antlers. It runs away. He calls. I keep going. A hour later he catches up to me after borrowing a friends Green Machine. The boss looks very angry. I dont get it?

I should have bought a turkey, too! We had a turkey breast and it's already gone!

Drowsy around here, too!

I love the picture you painted!! We had our turkey last weekend. Bambi had some turkey and some sweet potatoes & green beans, no stuffing tho!!
We have the best time last weekend when my son was here with his wife.
The day after they left we had a quiet day too!!!

The girls love that cramped spot behind the chair, don't they? It's funny - we buy our dogs such nice beds but then they choose crazy places to snooze!

I am still thankful - yesterday, today, tomorrow, and forever. Thanks for the reminder!

Hi Carolyn, Good advise about remembering why we are thankful day by day! Your girls look pretty content - they seem the epitome of thankfulness.

Thanks for your comments, everyone.

Baron - So sorry you that animal got you in trouble with Troutbirder. But I think he's the kind of fellow who forgives fairly quickly.
