The Golden Girls generally do not care much for the snow. Especially the snow we've had recently. With the ice cover they sometimes walk on top of the snow and then suddenly their paws will break through so they don't like it.
Here they wait patiently for me to take them outside to play.
Lucy is tentative and takes very careful steps.
Ellie runs with abandon and seemed to enjoy the snow.
Mom, have we had enough fun yet? Can we go back inside?
Ellie was lying in the center of this bed, but that didn't stop Lucy from squeezing in.
Today is bright and sunny. After some colder than normal temperatures we are expecting highs in the 40s! Won't that be something? This morning I heard the woodpeckers drumming and several birds singing. We have ever increasing amounts of daylight every week. Spring is truly on the way.
Have a wonderful weekend. It is said that "Fortunate are they who know how to be satisfied." May we all strive to be among those fortunate and recognize just how lucky we really are.

We still have tons of snow here, too. L and B are generally light enough to skitter along the surface, but Z really has a tough time getting around. I'm sooo ready for spring - and we may have a little arm spell this weekend before the next cold snap. Melt, snow, melt!!
I hink that last picture of the golden girls is my favorite of all!
Have a good weekend.
Those girls are like me, praying for Spring. You need to get you some Peggy Stern books girl, they are AWESOME ! :)
Rumor has it (via local tv channel) that we might finally get some snow next week. Our little poodles will be up to their bellies.. there might be a blog post in that! Always good to see the "girls"...
The girls must have worn themselves out when they were out in the snow. That last picture is priceless. It got warm here yesterday and we lost much of our snow. It's supposed to be even warmer today. I love it!
Alas, I know you're going to have to live through a lot of slush to get to spring, but it's coming, Girlfriend. Get the towels ready!
I'm' sure those beautiful golden girls are going to enjoy those warmer temps.
It's warmer! The sun is shining! But I still can't convince our crew to go out for more than a quick circuit of the house.
You should have a bountiful spring with all that snowpack. I'm a bit worried here in Michigan. I don't think we've had more than a foot all season and most of that has been in dustings followed by a melt. We've only had a couple of measurable snowfalls. I think our natural resources rely on that snowpack and this year will be interesting. With luck, perhaps we'll get a wet spring.
Love your girls, they are so beautiful!
My girls love the snow. I think they understand the word "careful" because I always say to them when they go outside(we live up stairs and they have to walk down the sometimes slipery stairs to get to the yard.
It is wonderful to be so connected with your dogs. I always feel as though I am visiting canine friends when I pop over on Fridays.
They are so delightful and never fail to make me smile.
Yes spring is on its way.....
It is supposed to be a gorgeous weekend and we are really looking forward to it. Have fun!
You've joined the snow world - the part of the world where snow stays all winter long!! Sorry that you don't like it so much. It should turn soon for you and the girls, with signs of spring abounding!
We have been talking of adopting a second Golden for Sam, and seeing your two on the cushion makes me want to do so even more!
Sam
i always look forward to your quotes at the end of the blog!!
if the dogs lived in wisconsin they would love the snow more! such sweet goldens!
xo
They are so sweet. My pooch loves the snow and even lay in it for long stretches just to take naps. Then he comes in the house and sheds big time. Grrr.
Our snow in Virginia is finally starting to melt--I could actually see the bottom of our driveway--It was such a good feeling!! :-) Enjoy your weekend!!
Those two dogs...I think they're very satisfied...lovely!
They are sooooo cute! My Golden friends Tucker and Daisy just posted that they entered a "synchronized sleeping" photo contest. Your girls would be great candidates! (If you are interested tuckerdaisy.blogspot.com)
Thanks for sharing these sweet pics!
It was... gasp... up to 57 here yesterday and we're supposed to reach 60 today. Yipppeeee! Have a great weekend Carolyn. :c)
Hi Carolyn, I love seeing your Golden Girls --and they look like most of us feel who have been living with the snow and cold and dreariness for a long time. We finally got some sunshine and warmer temps this week--and our big snow has finally melted (almost).
Hope hubby is doing okay now... You all have had a rough fall/winter.
Hugs,
Betsy
P.S. I love seeing your Purple finches. We don't have them here.
Oh we love your Golden Fridays!!! Your girls are so beautiful!!! Its so funny how they cuddle with each other. And yet joey and Kealani are far apart! They really dont even like to touch any part of each other while sleeping! How weird! Hugs, Joey and Kealani
Every time I look at a picture of the girls, I want to hug them!
I love the last picture of your girls napping in the sunlight. It makes me feel warm and peaceful and a bit drowsy myself! :-)
And, oh my, wasn't this past weekend wonderful?? A delightful taste of the spring to come...
