LIFE'S BETTER IN THE MOUNTAINS

Finally, a Royal Flush

Tuesday, December 22...a day that will stay in our minds for a long, long while. That was the day that Arnold FINALLY delivered on his promise to see us first thing in the morning. That was the day we could finally run water in our drains rather than pouring it our over the deck like great-grandma used to do. After four days of flushing only when necessary, and we really mean NECESSARY, we can use our bathrooms. Have you ever spent four days without a shower? What an event that was for both of us.

The injured player is making phenomenal progress. Our kids are on the way home for Christmas. Simply put...we are happy as a couple of chickadees.

And the fortunes of sunshine give us as much uplift and color as this sweet Pileated Woodpecker seeking a bite to eat.

The snow is melting although there is still plenty lying around. Exhaustion has given way to extreme happiness that we are doing as well as we are. Life indeed is beautiful.
Thank you all for your supportive comments and thoughts. We have so much to be grateful for and we are definitely counting each blessing we have.

You must always remember that whatever the struggles, you must consider yourself in some way, lucky. I hope the joys of whatever you choose to celebrate visit your family.

Life intervened, darn it, and I haven't been able to visit my favorite spots of late. Glad everything is looking up - will backtrack to see what's been going on as soon as I can!
May your holidays be wonderous!

I'm so glad that the plumbing problem has been resolved and all is well there. Love seeing that pileated woodpecker. We've been seeing one in the very tall pines on one of our walks. Always a treat.

Enjoy your family time and have a wonderful holiday.

Whew - so glad you are finally back in business! I remember when I lived in NC and hurricane Fran knocked out our power for a week (and we were some of the lucky ones) - it was at least 4 days without a shower, and it was no fun at all!

Here's wishing that all your troubles are now over, and you can settle down and have an awesome, hassle-free Christmas with your fmaily!

Well, I opened your post wondering--hmmm playing cards? No. Aha--go back and read the prior post (I am a bit behind).
Oh.
Sorry for your predicament. Glad for things being fixed and running again.
Have a merry Christmas and a happy New Year.

Ah, yes! We are flushing too -- after being without power from Friday to Wednesday. Flushing and blogging and enjoying lights and all those wonderful modern conveniences!

Merry Christmas to you and yours, Mountain Woman!
