Lucy digs right in while Ellie looks to my husband for direction. That is typical behavior for both of them. Lucy is always more interested in doing what she wants to do and Ellie is more interested in doing what we want her to do.
What could be the interest in a dustpan and broom?
Ellie checks out one of the boxes while Lucy looks over the shelf.
The large garbage can is taller than Lucy.
Both dogs are quite interested in the colorful plastic funnels.
I suppose they do look a little bit like doggie toys.
The girls go on the driveway for a breather. Neither of them cares much for the shop vac. It makes far more noise than the indoor vacuum cleaners.
I looked around and Lucy had disappeared. A quick call and she came flying back up the steps. She sat by my side as if to say, "Oops, Mom. I got carried away. Sorry."
Today is a red-letter day for me. It's the last of the 14-day multi-drug treatment for H. pylori, a bacteria associated with gastric ulcers. I usually have no problem swallowing pills of any size, but one of the antibiotics is bitter as can be. Knowing that gives me the creeps every time I have to take it. Yuck!
Another weekend is upon us. I do hope it is a good one for you and your loved ones. Celebrate your life this weekend as if it were your birthday. As the old saying goes, "Every day above ground is a good day."
Have a wonderful and fun-filled weekend!

Fridays sure are golden!
I love that last photo of Lucy galloping to you. What a good girl!
So glad to hear that your antibiotics are almost over. I hope that you're still improving by leaps and bounds!
Your goldies sure are pretty!
I have the same problem with Mucinex - vile stuff. Yuck!
Nice to see the golden girls having some unusual garage fun.
So glad you are at the end of the antibiotics. Yay!
I'm here for my Friday fix!
Sadie is our Lucy, Jake is our Ellie and we are wondering how Hoss, a mixture of both is going to be?He appears to be independent and laid back right now like Sadie and Big Duke who looks exactly like Sadie did as a pup has Jake's "what next" disposition.
The girl's are beautiful Carolyn and glad they got to "help" with the clean-up!
Happy Friday, your pictures are great!!! What a great way to spend a rainy day, hunting through the garage!!!
lotsa licks,
Miley
Your babies are so cute...one is always the 'pleaser' huh? Just like kids, one wants your admiration, the other is interested in their own thing.
Love the action shot!!
LOL at them looking at the oil funnels!! Curiosity is something I can totally appreciate! ;o)
I think it's great that Lucy and Ellie help clean the garage. Perhaps you could bring them here? Congratulations on reaching the end of your drug treatment for the ulcer.
The picture of Lucy running to you is great.
They appear to be so helpful in the garage.
I'm glad you're done with treatment. Hope you stay well.
That photo of Lucy running with her beautiful ears and fur flying was precious! Hope you are almost done w/ your antibiotics and feeling good soon!!!
Great photos and wonderful dogs. They are so full of life. Just such a wonderful breed. Glad to hear you are much better and that you are finished with your medicine. You have a nice weekend too.
Cute post, Carolyn. I love the quote (Every day ABOVE ground is a good day). I guess the older I get, the more that means to me. ha
Love your Goldens. They are just like kids. One kids is a 'pleaser' and another kid is the "Push-my-buttons" type of kid... My youngest son (although a good boy) knew how to push my bottons like neither of the others ever did.
Have a wonderful weekend. Glad you are feeling well. Take care!
Hugs,
Betsy
I love my Friday evening with you and the girls....as always I am smiling.....
I do hope that you are feeling well and getting back to normal......
It is so sweet how they want to investigate everything you touch! Congrats on making it through all those big bitter pills, you poor thing :(
Somehow, the thought of The Herd helping is, well scary.
P.S. - Hope to run into some time at Pisgah. It is a regular area for us because of all the great trails.
The girls are beautiful, as always.
Glad you're finished taking the nasty pills. Hope you continue to recover without a hitch.
Glad you're finishing up the icky drugs!
I love the last picture of Lucy bounding back to you. Looks like it was a fun day for all.
Congrats on finishing your drug regimen. Keep on healing.
Too funny how the girls watch the work, and inspect.
I got in a garage cleaning mode this week, and had my dog Tipper outside--unleashed. Next thing I knew, she was nowhere to be seen. I began rushing around the neighborhood looking for her. Then I heard a neighbor call--she's here. Apparently she decided since I was busy, she would take herself for a walk. Phew--I was so relieved to find her.
I think its all the new smells that attract their attention. Plus anything new.
I think I took that same pill for the same reason. Yuk!!!
That last picture is great!
Glad you can be off of those pills, Yuck, and that you've had a good recovery.
Such pretty dogs you have! The funnels do look like fun...very colorful, too. :-)
When you get a moment, check out my blog friend in San Diego, She is a lover of Golden's too and just adopted two older sisters!

HI there love your post!!! Looks like they are enjoying the "smells" of the garage!!! I love the picture of Lucy bounding up the stairs!!! and the saying you have at the end about a fun filled weekend, my mom used to say exactly that. Thank you, I know she is near me today :) Its going to be a great day!!! Hugs Joey and Kealani
Oh, those babies are so beautiful! I love the one where she's flying as she runs, fur flowing back - *smiling*
glad the meds are helping and you can stop them - I think that's what you said - I hope! :)
I love the pictures, especially the one "flying up the steps". You captured it beautifully.
Glad you are feeling better. I remember all the people who used to have major gastric surgery before they discoverd that H.pylori caused most stomach ulcers. Your dogs are so inquisitive. Ours doesn't like the sound of our heavy duty blender.
Thanks for your comments. I have finished the antibiotics for H. pylori, but will be taking several other medications for quite a while. Because I am allergic to penicillin, I had to take two different antibiotics along with bismuth, each of them four times a day. That's a lot of pills! And fourteen days seems like a long time.
Hee hee..I love how curious these pups are..toys toys..thats what they want!
Your girls are adorable. Typical Goldens , interested in doing everything with you (well, maybe except vacuuming:)
