LIFE'S BETTER IN THE MOUNTAINS

We've Been Together Too Long

It's Valentine's Day. This morning I grabbed my coffee. At my place on the table were three cards. I had already put my husband's card at his place last night. Why do I have three cards? Somehow the dogs each manage to get me a card as well.

As usual, I had gotten a funny card for my husband. On the front there are two ladies chatting. One said, "This Valentine's Day, I got a bottle of wine for my husband." On the inside, the other lady responded, "Good trade."

When my husband opened the card, he let out a really big laugh. Well, I thought the card was funny too, but not THAT funny. Then he said, "Open your card. We did it again."

This is certainly not the first time we have bought identical cards for each other. Far from it. In fact, it has happened so often that my daughter once suggested we just go shopping together and select a card. I must admit that it is surprise that given the large selection of cards from which to choose, we could have come up with two just alike on more than one occasion. My husband and I are very different. In fact eHarmony would NEVER match the two of us. Despite the differences (or perhaps because of them) we have been married 37 years (38 years come November). You figure.
HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!

Happy Valentines Day.
Seems like the two of you are more like two peas in a pod.

That's too funny..the same card! Never happened with us...we are so different even down to the type of cards!!

Been married 39 years this past January, too!

Too funny! We both have the same problem ... we go and look at cards and walk away empty handed ... none seem to suit ... or hardly ever! I tend to go for funny cards and D for serious ones.

We had a champagne brunch to celebrate the day.

I seem to be reflecting a lot lately about 'Days Gone By' and when I read your post on both you & Randy getting the SAMECard I think of my Parents back when...After time, they just became One...Which today most look at that as a BAD thing, BUT isn't that what it's All suspose to be about???
I congratulate you on your Very Good Taste...
Happiest Valentines Day To You Both...

First, Happy Valentine's Day to two long time love birds.
Second, you've been together long enough to SHARE a mind--no wonder you pick the same card. But that is really funny.

Love this post! And you have some beautiful and happy puppies. I had Australian Shepherds when I lived on my farm and the question "Are you ready?" was a "go" signal for them.

Thanks, everyone for your comments. My daughter suggested that next year I get a card that says Happy Valentine to my Grandpa! That surely won't be duplicated.

Liza - We are definitely NOT two peas. But still it works for us. We respect the differences and share the common bonds.

Cicero - Champagne brunch. I feel pretty bad with just my blueberry muffins.

Kallen - This has happened so often that we really can't believe it happened once again. So many identical anniversary cards, Valentines, and Christmas ornaments.

I think it's neat that you and Randy picked the same card for each other. I guess the two of you prove that eHarmony doesn't always know what it should be doing.

Hi Carolyn, Ellie, and Lucy! Thanks for visiting my blog - its nice to meet you. What beautiful Goldens! (For a minute, I thought it was me!) My parents just celebrated their 40th. They've gone from buying cards the traditional way to going shopping together and having each one pick out the card they like best and showing it to the other, to having the dogs make cards, to just saying good morning. It's fine!

See ya!
