LIFE'S BETTER IN THE MOUNTAINS

Fridays are Golden

On Wednesday the weather predictions were dire. High winds, freezing rain and severe weather for Wednesday night and Thursday morning. Not certain I would be able to get off the mountain, I rescheduled an early appointment I had in Asheville. I woke up early and saw the moon and stars in the clear sky. Daybreak brought a glorious sun.

While I was certainly glad the weather was fine, I was not happy that I had unnecessarily rescheduled an appointment. I picked up the paper and saw the bold headlines, "Better get out your shovel." Hah!

I spent much of the morning doing little tasks around the house. There seemed to be a sleeping dog every where I turned. They truly made the most of the sunny morning, moving from bed to bed, sunbeam to sunbeam.

Lucy on the tan bed.
Ellie on the red one.

Lucy on the hallway rug.

Ellie moves to the tan bed.

Ellie moved so Lucy takes the tan bed.

Ellie is back on the red one.

In no time at all, Lucy decides it's time to share. She plops down next to Ellie for a snooze.

Another weekend is upon us. I hope it will be a good one for everyone. Find at least one thing that is giving you stress and ELIMINATE it. You can tear down that wall of stress one little thing at a time.
Have a wonderful, safe and fun weekend!

I love that last picture.
There are just so many shades of gold and rust and red. Beautiful!

They are so cute I can't stand it! I love the last one where they are both together.

Love how the girls play musical beds.
We have only one dog--so no bed moving here.
But we have two cats--sadly, they do not get along. So no sharing. In fact, the older cat sniffs any bed the other cat has been on--then walks away, his nose in the air.

Great pictures! Your Goldens are gorgeous. My like to cuddle up together to snooze too. Rarely do I find one of them sleeping somewhere without one of the others touching them, paw to paw, paw to tail, etc. I think it is the sweetest thing!

Beautiful dogs! I will take you up on your advice to eliminate the major source of stress in my life (i.e., PhD school) in about 18 months or so....

I love how they visit every dog bed that they have! Seemed like they were sleepy today! And I know what you mean about the weather reports. I keep hearing about a blizzard so we didn't drive up to our cabin - but the sun shone all day today! Drats!

That storm was to hit us as well and it fizzled out with just a few flakes of snow. Your girls don't care about the weather forecast.

You have no idea how much I enjoy coming here- it's like being close to my own house I can't be close to! :-) Except I still have trouble telling the goldens apart unless they are together on the same bed.

Carolyn, Sorry you had to reschedule your appointment.. We didn't get a drop of anything here either when they said we would. Now they are saying we will get snow tomorrow night and Sunday. I doubt it!!!!! ha

I love seeing your Goldens go to where the sun is coming in the windows... I don't blame them!!!! I love to feel that winter sunshine also!!!!

Hope you have a good weekend. No stress here except for buying two new computers today--and now having to put all of our files and programs on them... Fun fun!!!
Hugs,
Betsy

This is the first time I've witnessed a game of musical beds. But the girls are so adorable who can complain, especially after seeing the last picture?

Thanks for your comments. It WAS indeed musical beds. My husband was out for the day which means I cranked up the iPod on the Bose as I did my chores. I've got the best playlist for housework. So they did have music.

There are two beds downstairs and they also take turns moving from one to the other. In fact, during the day we have caught Ellie sleeping in Lucy's crate. Can't figure that one out.

mark on my wall - Ellie wears a blue collar and has a scar on her face. Lucy wears a red collar (think red Devil!)

Bird girl - These are high-energy dogs even as adults, but long walks up and down the hills and running on the trails help keep them more sedate and calm inside.

Gus and Waldo like to snuggle together on the bed, too. Keeps them nice and warm!
