Sharing the Suet

Every now and then, we will see a small bird on one side of the suet feeder remain there when another bird flies to the other side. They often cannot see one another because of the suet cakes. On this particular morning I caught a Downy and a Chickadee sharing the suet. Both sat there eating away. Guess Christmas is indeed a season of sharing.

Although most other birds clear out when this lovely lady appears, I have no doubt she would be happy to share as well. Of course, there's not much room for anyone else.

Note the condition of our suet feeder. No one has ever seen squirrels do such damage to this brand of feeder. It has a lifetime guarantee, so if it gets chewed to the point that it will no longer hold suet, Wild Birds Unlimited will give us a new one.
By the way, the squirrels still have not figured out how to beat the baffle my husband made. But that doesn't stop them from trying.

Beautiful pictures. Betsy has had birds sharing her suet, but we've never seen a woodpecker as being one that did the sharing. We have seen woodpeckers and other birds sharing other feeders, however.

Wouldn't it be something to see your pileated and an itty bitty chickadee feeding together?

Have you shown us you hubby's baffle? I'd like to be able to make one that works. I've bought two but they're kind of expensive.

Good morning Carolyn. Is it cold in Carolina today??? We've got a whopping FIVE degrees this morning. Brrrrrr.... Poor Birdies. I put out some extra goodies this morning.

Love the picture of your Pileated. I haven't seen any recently--but we still have our Red- bellied.

Great Pictures..
Hugs,
Betsy

It is amazing how much damage a squirrel can do to a feeder.

Pileateds are big birds! I saw one for the first time this summer and was really surprised.

We have a regular pileated woodpecker visit too. I bought my feeder from Wild Birds Unlimited but my squirrel isn't as ambitious as your own! We had one squirrel ruin a seed feeder trying to get at the seeds but it was just a cheap feeder. Our current squirrel, for the time being, seems satisfied with the sunflower seeds the birds drop. It actually made an appearance yesterday as it warmed up to -12 C (10F).

That's a really neat suet feeder design.

Pileateds are so handsome and fierce-looking. You're so lucky to have one at your feeder. And big kudos to your husband for foiling the squirrels so far!

George - The only time we had a woodpecker share was when the Red Bellied was on one side and the Downy on the other. I'm sure the Red Bellied had no idea the Downy was there.

Lynne - I'll take a picture for you. It's rather unattractive, a PVC pipe and duct tape, but so far it is working.

Betsy - Yes, it is cold here today. We didn't get above freezing all day. Can't complain, though. My dear daughter went to work in Milwaukee this morning with a -18 degree wind chill.

Melissa - Everyone at the bird shop was amazed. They've never seen such a thing either.

Science guy - Yes, they are big. And so beautiful as they swoop through the woods.

Cicero - I am so glad when people have Pileateds to visit. Such wonderful birds.

Delia - This suet feeder is especially good for the Pileateds since it has the area at the bottom. They like to prop their tails on it.

Cheryl - The Pileateds are not at all aggressive. The Red-bellied, on the other hand, will chase away other birds near the suet.

Iris - Thanks for dropping by. Yes, my husband is quite proud of the baffle.

Shelley - I thought they were really cute as well. Our Downys are so friendly.

I have several pictures of a Downy and a Junco sharing the suet this year. I have more than one feeder that has been destroyed by squirrels. They chewed my plastic window feeders to bits.

I ask myself "how the hell do you dodge an world of warcraft gold attack you can't even SEE?"Melee DPSers in your raid are playing very badly, increasing the damage to your tank and wow power leveling decreasing their own damage output. Mobs do dodge from behind, but they don't parry or block. Simply fighting from behind world of warcraft gold a mob results in an increase of 5% in your DPS on most mobs because you cut cheap wow gold parry out, plus you avoid giving the mob the 'next world of warcraft gold swing is 50% faster' that they get on a successful parry.Don't forget that wow powerleveling some even get BONUS attacks when they parry. I can't tell you how many times we wiped on Gruul because of hateful world of warcraft gold strikes...Melee DPS should always be behind mobs as much as possible in raids.I've learned that attacking players from the back means they can't block, parry, or dodge. Is this the same with wow power leveling mobs? It's supposed to be the case, however I'm not sure if it always works that way in practice.i have never heard world of warcraft gold anything about hitting a player from behind making it so they cant cheap wow gold dodge or parry,The same applies world of warcraft gold to NPCs. The only time positioning matters is that the target needs to be in front of you, and some rogue and druid catform abilities wow power leveling require you to be either behind or in front of your target.Players CANNOT Dodge block or parry attacks that come from behind them.NPCS CANNONT BLOCK OR PARRY attacks that world of warcraft gold come from behind them.NPCS CAN dodge attacks from behind BUT players cannot.this is why in a raid all melee classes wow gold kaufen need to attack from behind the boss in order to reduce the amount of parries.I understand that world of warcraft gold this forum is for beginners.but when a beginner asks a question, please understand what you are talking about before wow powerleveling you spread misinformation.keep in mind that you can MISS from all directions. So if you are a rogue and you ambush a player, they dofus kamas wont BLOCK it, but you can MISS your attack.

So the number of kamas dofus times my rogue has had attacks parried or dodged from dofus kamas behind their target while in stealth never happened. Got it. that's because you dofus kamas didn't position yourself right!if you stand inside the mob or too close, your weapons can go through it, and you will get Lord of the Rings Online Gold parried etc. This idea Kerrigan had LOTRO Gold against heavy units came after she witnessed Terran Armor Annihilators tear through some Ultalisks very easily. This fly for fun penya new member of the swarm was engineered directly towards flyff penya eliminating heavy units. The only drawback is to the Protoss with Twilight Archons. However since the Infiltratorlisk jumps inside and tears Final Fantasy XI gil a hole then destroys the heavy unit would mean that the Infiltratorlisk could be used against Immortals, evening ffxi gil things up with the Armor Annihilator not being able to attack Immortals but could attack Twilight Archons well.thats Lord of the Rings Online Gold my Zerg unit for my heavy unit counter idea, I hope you enjoy This unit would be the protoss equivalent to LOTRO Gold the Armor Annihilator and the Infiltratorlisk. The Hyper Destroyer would be mechanical and would fire flyff penya from one photon cannon at the top. However this photon cannon wouldnt be a photon cannon it would be a charged buy flyff gold weapon to fire at enemy ffxi gil heavy units. It would take about 3-5 seconds buy ffxi gil for the weapon to get fully charged. During Lord of the Rings Online gold those three seconds a large LOTRO gold ball of deadly energy will mass in front of the photon cannon then after 3-5 seconds will fire, doing much more fly for fun penya damage in one blow but taking more time. Since this cannon takes a while to use, small units wil be able to overpower it easily, as all that power flyff penya is used on only 1 unit where it isnt neccesary. The Hyper Destroyers cannon activates Immortals shields so it is not usefull The Protoss Final Fantasy XI gil seeing that Terrans and Zerg apparently had some sort of heavy unit destroyer decided to develop one of their own. The Protoss ffxi gil realized that weren't as strong as what a protoss could come up with but ugg boots faster firing. Pay more attention to buy! It would be attacking small units ugg boots weakly like a zergling just weaker since it is specialized against ugg boots heavy units With Kerrigan creating and eq2 plat testing Zerg genes. Will some achievements enable small visual buffs if you activate eq2 gold them?as much as you fanboys like to think, achievements and a "gamerscore" aren't new ideas eq2 plat that microsoft sprung out of their ass.I can has flaming feets for killing Illidan? Sorry guys, but it's not new to Xbox.Random eq2 gold meaningless miniquests have been around for far longer.I can live with that. This is I can live with that. This is absolutely awesome! So is this a segway to the Xbox 360? Sounds like the Achievements they have too... hope not!We need achievements for Forum and Game Bans. absolutely awesome! So is this a segway to the Xbox 360? Sounds like the Achievements they have too... hope not!We need eq2 gold achievements for Forum and Game Bans.game client that you use must be patched up to version 2.4.2 or later world of warcraft gold in order to install the beta test client.com and follow the detailed.

For them, melee wow gold stands next to their hind leg."Don't stand behind her! Who got thrown into the eggs? MINUS FIFTY DKP!!!"Aaaaah, Yahtzee! This post says it all. Fight your raid mobs from the back, nearly wow gold all of them are not friendly to DPSers in the front. As a dagger spec rogue, I could probably describe a boss's rear better than I could wow gold their front, either that or their giant feet. Thanks for all the info! When I am instancing, should I try to stand behind mobs when DPSing? Or is this really only wow gold important in the late game?lmao, this is so true and made me bash my face in my keyboard many of times on my druid. If you're DPSing and a tank has the mob's aggro, you should be behind it as wow gold a melee DPS class.Unless there's something special like a knockback that will send you over an edge, melee should ALWAYS stand behind a mob wow gold if at all possible. You do more damage, the tank takes less damage, and mobs with a cleave won't destroy you. Simply standing behind a mob makes you at least 5% better overall!Description:WOW gold,WOW money,WOW accounts,WOW power leveling wow gold are avalable here that you can get at low price. Action at once!Wow, there wasn't clickable links in mine lol xD Suppose everything is different o.o I use hotmail, probably wow gold why I thought it was fake as well, but here I am happily downloading the beta. I'm going to be just another Northrend noob, you must upgrade an existing wow gold retail account allowing you to connect to the Wrath of the Lich King? test realms.

You can wow gold understand, i'm sure, how easy it was to confuse you two. At least world of warcraft gold you sound like you're joking, the other guy was serious! This Also you have no idea if it will get more armor/energy The new rocket cluster or the yamato gun? you buy wow gold gotta choose. Either way they still suck, why build one wow po of them? When I can literally build x4 wraiths. 80 dps per sec versus 25 dps per 25 sec. Figure out the math.Battlecruiser wow or and Carrier need some help. They are destroyed easily even with support.in raids melee classes never go behind there targets so i assume there is no such thing world of warcraft gold and its the same for mobs.Yes, players can block parry or dodge attacks from behind. Even against a rogue ambushing from buy wow gold stealth that the player wasn't even aware that they were there.but am I going to have some fun wow gold testing out the new rogue tree.
