And after a soggy June, we're wishing for some daylong rains in NEO and other parts of Ohio after July, August, and now waning September have left us lacking.

I put up two stick-on window feeders to entertain me and my cats, and they are a constant gladness. Piper and Marlowe know not to worry any cardinals that arrive, and they regulate any seed-throwing or bickering sparrows. We get a surprising number of goldfinches at this sunflower seed feeder, despite a perfectly nice nyjer seed feeder close by. Go figure.

Love the crestfallen tufted titmouse. The moon rose in a narrow cloud bank here, so we didn't get to see the beginning of the eclipse. We did get to watch it as it ascended and became a beautiful red sphere. We're in southern CA, visiting with my mom. Not the best place to watch such phenomenon, but we did manage a nice view for a little while.
