I hesitated to put the picture of the Downy in the post, but that's the only way one can truly appreciate the loss of such a perfect little bird.

Yes, it was wonderful to hold the hummingbird, and my heart did sing when he recovered and flew away. He flew to a nearby tree and then to the feeder, so I'm fairly certain he had no lasting damage.NCmountainwomanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00615765649828716560noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3906718086309436335.post-79352890628539967982008-06-20T09:43:00.000-04:002008-06-20T09:43:00.000-04:00We're all praying for rain, aren't we? We don't have large windows (sad for us but good for the birds) but the one they are most inclined to crash into is the kitchen window ... so I attached a suction/multi-branched plastic hook to it and tied streamers that flit about with the slightest breeze. Seems to do the trick ... at least for now ... and doesn't deter from my view or light either.Cicero Singshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13438108795744902961noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3906718086309436335.post-80174814228845410182008-06-18T15:18:00.000-04:002008-06-18T15:18:00.000-04:00Oh joy and sadness combined.
