LIFE'S BETTER IN THE MOUNTAINS

We Love Lucy

Here we are the last weekend in August and we are definitely having some hot and humid August weather.  Lucy is spending more time in the shade than in the sun.  One of her favorite spots is behind the recliner.  Or worse, under the raised foot rest.  The problem is that my husband cannot reach her when he is sitting there so she begins to miss out on a lot of petting.  Sometimes she actually whines and thwacks her tail for attention.  Then she realizes she must get up in order to get some petting.

In a surprised moment she is actually looking at me with the camera

She loses interest quickly and begins to nod off

Our thoughts still go out to the people and animals who are suffering here and abroad.

[Note to "news" media:  Please pay more attention to what the President is saying than what he is wearing.  Honestly.]

Our quote is from Kahil Gibran and is food for thought:

"When you are joyous, look deep into your heart and you will find it is only that which has given you sorrow that is giving you joy.  When you are sorrowful look again in your heart, and you shall see that in truth you are weeping for that which has been your delight."

HAVE A MOST WONDERFUL AND SAFE HOLIDAY WEEKEND, EVERYONE.  THANK THOSE WHO LABOR ON YOUR BEHALF

We couldn't find our Pom one time and she had gotten under the recline and the footrest put down. We were sure relieved she was okay.

Have a beautiful weekend!

It is hot enough that Callie actually volunteers to come inside--a first.
I actually thought that was one of the best looking suits he has worn. What is wrong with folks?

I love the "surprised" Lucy look!

The quote certainly is food for thought. It made me think of Ellie and of K.

Perhaps Lucy is getting used to being a subject for Friday posts and has decided to take her role more seriously :)
We love Lucy too!!

Beautiful quote.....one that I have not read before. So very true.

Lucy is gorgeous! I like to watch the dogs and do as they do: if they are spending their time in the shade then I will, too.

I love the quote. So very true...I find myself seeking the joy these days, in response to all the sorrow in the world. Taking a 'news vacation.' It hurts my heart too much to see what is going on in the world. And then I come across wonderful Lucy, and my heart is glad.

Enjoy your weekend, too!

Really. Tan suitgate. I saw on Facebook pictures of Reagan and Bush sr. making speeches while wearing tan suits. Of course, they weren't black . . .
